GTE: the Linde Werdelin Spidolite
Jan 31, 2010,13:44 PM
During my week in Geneva, I spent one day at the Geneva Time Exhibition. The purpose of this Salon was to give to several independant brands the ability to present their watches, their novelties while a lot of journalists, AD were present in Geneva.
Linde Werdelin was of these brands.
So I took the opportunity to see their novelties: the different versions of the Spidolite SA.
The Spidolite SA has the following features:
- skeletonized titanium dial
- 1970’s automatic movement, modified in the Andersen Genève with a blue rotor
- skeletonized Titanium or PG cases
Without any doubt, the Spidolite is my fav Linde Werdelin. The skeletonized dial is really in harmony with the case and the finishings of the case are excellent. The overall design has an air of déjà vu (AP Survivor, Sniper) but Linde Werdelin managed to bring their own personality.
Let's browse the pics now.
The SA All Black ( Titanium case) version. It is a LE of 88 watches:
A very wearable watch:
The PG version (also a LE edition of 88 watches):
I think that this PG version is a bit too shiny for the style and purpose of the watch. It is the reason why I prefer the PG mat version. The case is amazing. This material works perfectly with the skeletonized case.
Thanks a lot to the Linde Werdelin staff for their warm welcome.

Any pics of any of their other models? I know the Spidolight seems to be the "darling" of the line. Thanks. DSD
Thanks.

It is nice to see these live pictures. The Spidolite looks good on your wrist. It is a very angular, masculine watch. I have yet to see any LWs in person, but the one that most interests me is The One. It is an attractive, solid-looking watch. Thanks for ...
Scratches for the module?

FrX, Thanks for the update. Intuitively, the matt versions appear to be better suited for the add-on modules that this watch is designed to work with i.e. the electronic computers for diving and mountain climbing. One imagines that the shiny surfaces woul...
My thoughts.

I agree - with the relative softness of gold, there would quickly be signs of wear if one attached and detached the module with any frequency. That being said, I also suspect that Linde Werdelin is capturing attention with their case design irrespective o...
