While Purists were gathering in Singapore last weekend . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-12:50
. . . they were also meeting in So Cal on the very same day. The heretofore shrouded alphabet soup gang . . . . . . convened at their usual hide-out with a special guest who, under normal circumstances, would've been at the Singapore gathering....

Mr A, a resident of Singapore, happened to be in our neck of the woods . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-12:56
. . . and brought along a few select examples from his collection. Arguably none finer, though, than this one. Yup, a ref 3970J. The culmination of a decade's worth of collecting effort; others were sacrificed to enable this accomplishment. If you're goin...

Amongst others in his entourage was . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-13:06
. . . this rarely seen vintage GUB chronometer. Also, this soon-to-be-destined modern classic. ...

It was great to see you all again (and your watches also).

 By: mkvc : March 4th, 2017-17:30
Really a nice gathering, and thanks to both Dr. No and Mr. A for their parts in it. As always, congratulations to Dr. No for extracting fine photographs from challenging circumstances.

Mr and Mrs B were in attendance . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-13:00
. . . he with the highlight of his collection . . . . . . and she with hers. Mr B is a founding member of the gang, and he's been bringing Mrs B to our gatherings even before she became Mrs B. ...

Ms C was finally able to rejoin us . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-13:15
. . . after a year's (or has it been longer?) absence. Her solitary contribution was a Breitling, but unfortunately, I either didn't photograph it (although I thought I had), or none of the images survived the selection process. Here's hoping she'll share...

Here is the watch for Ms C

 By: FanFrancisco : March 8th, 2017-07:16
...

Thanks, Mr A! . . .

 By: Dr No : March 9th, 2017-11:49
. . . . . .

Mr D brought his signature eclectic mix . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-13:20
. . . to the gathering. And while he didn't exactly bring this one to the gathering . . . . . . it is now his. And so like him. ...

And two more from Mr D - this . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:27
. . . modern Bulova chronograph . . . . . . and mid-century Omega cal 302. ...

The Tissot is particularly cool

 By: Alkiro1 : March 4th, 2017-22:58
Best wishes Alkiro

Mr E recently joined our group last year . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-13:26
. . . and brought two, one of which can be shared here. ...

Mr E also brought one . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:05
. . . with you in mind, Nicolas. Yes, still sealed in plastic wrap, fresh from Patek service the day before. ...

Needless to say

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 4th, 2017-18:50
This one makes me happy. Simple. Honest. As a watch should be.

GTG blossoms everywhere this spring, as PuristS pollen spreading across the world!

 By: Luis6 : March 4th, 2017-15:17
My eyes are particularly caught by the Breguet Naples of Mrs B.

Mr F brought only two . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:17
. . . but both were quite special, one . . . . . . for mythical reasons pertaining to the number 18. The other one was . . . . . . actually mythical. ...

Mr G brought the bumblebee . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:32
. . . that comes second to mind of the genre ;-) . . . . . . and perhaps the most idiosyncratic of the gathering, a one-handed wonder . . . . . . from Favre-Leuba. ...

Actually, the way to read this watch is to look at...

 By: elliot55 : March 5th, 2017-11:29
... the inner bezel, which turns just a little bit slower than the minute indicator. So the watch is showing the time as 1:53. At 2:00 (in about seven minutes), the number two on the inner bezel and the minute indicator will line up at 12:00. Hope that he...

If You Look At The Inner Bezel...

 By: elliot55 : March 7th, 2017-10:07
... You will see the "1" is slightly trailing the minute hand. And so, the time displayed would be read as 1:53. At 2:00, the minute hand and the "2" on the inner bezel will line up at the 12:00 position.

This Favre-Leuba is very nice

Thank You...

 By: elliot55 : March 5th, 2017-11:33
... Kind sir.

My pleasure

Mr H is another long-term member of our group . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:44
. . . who brought a brace of Zeniths, one deep vintage . . . . . . with other more contemporary . . . . . . as well as the sole vintage Rolex . . . . . . of the gathering. ...

Mr I brought the nearly inscrutable . . .

 By: Dr No : March 4th, 2017-19:58
. . . O & J. Left-handed crown; the time is correct. ...

Greetings Art

Just a quick Hello and hope you and all the guys are well. Wondering if people know who Spiro Agnew was. That is a very cool watch. Regards

Hi, Don! Good to hear from you . . .

 By: Dr No : March 6th, 2017-11:16
