He certainly has worked closely with Blancpain over the years and I can see the closer relationship lending a great deal of benefit to both parties. Blancpain will undoubtedly gain even more than they already have from Calabrese's breadth of knowledge and know-how and he in turn will gain from the production/distribution assets that the Swatch Group brings to the table. I only hope his intentions and ideals don't get nipped for the sake of production capacity. As I said though, I trust he knows what he's doing.

Aside: My utmost apologies for going against forum guidelines with that link! I had no idea. I would love it if someone could inform me as to what was taboo so that I don't make the same mistake again (Kong?). Thanks!

I think that watchmakers, as everyone else too, pass through phases in their careers and that Vincent, after many very active years on his own, is now ready for the support of a bigger organization. It seems consistent to me that he be moving to Blancpain...
