[Hands-on] BaselWorld 2014 Pieces

Recently, I have got the chance and honour to have a hands-on session for the BaselWorld 2014 pieces (special thanks to Peter Chong and Fiona Lim for the arrangement). Hope you guys will enjoy the pieces that I have uploaded. 

Overall, I like the Seamaster 300 and the Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Speedmaster the most. 

For the Seamaster 300, I like it as it is the remake of the original version (which is really difficult to come by). It is like an updated version of the original one too; in short, the classic Seamaster 300 with the latest technology. A really cool and exciting piece indeed.

As for the Speedmaster Apollo 11 45th Anniversary Edition, the dial is a very unique one indeed. The sub-dials, minute markers, and the details on the dial (e.g. the brand and model) of the watch are produced using a special laser engraving method that removes the material surrounding these features. A very unorthodox move indeed, which makes it all the more even special. My only disappointment is that it comes with the NATO strap.... 

The others did not disappoint too. I quite like the Mark II too, but the date indicator sort of disrupted the design of the dial. And also, I would prefer the Speedy to have a manual movement. I always have this thought that a Speedy must be hand-wounded, somehow. The Tresor is a really nice piece as well, with its beautiful honeycomb dial. But that may be less versatile, as compared to the Speedy and the Seamaster 300. Overall, I am pleased with this year's addition (since I like older Omega pieces, and the remakes are pretty awesome).
