Love the Q&A you presented! Sorry I couldn't really ask my wife to participate in this as... To be completely honest, she doesn't really know I'm so much into this hobby lol! :p Great responses you have from the spouses of our community! Great insight...

No problem

Many of the responses the spouses had are exactly the responses my wife has had in many of these situations. She is often bewildered about the obsession, but enjoys that I am passionate about something. The money spent is often concerning to her but she a...

Most of them developped a Watch culture and a Watch taste which is quite impressive, I must say.... You know, they say nothing, and one day, bang, they analyze a Watch in an excellent way, and you just realize that they got it all. As for the Watch buddie...

Thank you Nicolas and great comments

Your observations are very insightful and true. It's amazing how much is absorbed just being exposed to all of it.

Great read, Ping! :)

I shared this with my wife and she agrees and identifies with so much that you've covered. It's also made me realize that sometimes I can be a little more sensitive to what she's thinking, especially on the financials and the desire to be in on these deci...

Thank you Richard

I'm so happy that your wife could relate and that it helped to shed some light on what what some spouses think about. :) thanks again

This is so true and hitting the right notes, great pleasure reading...

but one trick I learnt is to let her have what she wants first, as long as not Berkins, we men should be on the upper hand :)) Most times after getting her handbags, she'll be much more supportive, win-win, or lose-lose together. Rgds Raymond

Very interesting post Ping ...

On my side, my wife (we are married for 40+ years) didn't paid any attention until a couple years when she got the "virus". She was deep attracted for this Longines (dual power barrels, the last in house movement). After this one ... She started paying at...

Well, I wish it were the same around here, in northern Europe. Or do I? Here are men just about the equal of women and roles are easily interchanged. I have few friends for whom, just as for me, the time etc. spent in this hobby/ passion is not seen as be...

Great post and I loved reading the answers of the spouses

you interviewed. Gives us a better insight in what our wives think about us and our crazy, expensive, hobby. Cheers, Anthony

Well done, Ping!

I am glad Mrs. CaliforniaJed indulges my obsession. It's fun to be able to share it with her. (Even when she occassionally rolls her eyes!) Best, CaliforniaJed

Excellent thread !

I'm going to ask my wife to read it. She's not 'into' watches at all, but graciously accepts them regularly as gifts. She's starting to appreciate fine watches, I guess she has no choice. She can get difficult with the 'cost of investment' thing, but hey,...

"She" got a new kitchen???...

 By: pplater : November 25th, 2014-06:30
Hey, Rob, the womens' movement really passed you by, didn't it? :-) :-) :-) (Whatever it takes; whatever it takes!) Cheers, pplater.

Things have changed, I'm telling you...

 By: RobCH : November 25th, 2014-07:31
...the new kitchen doesn't even have a chain to attach her to the sink ! (oops, have I overstepped the line?) ;-)

LOL What an entertaining post.

Thank you, Ping. My wife doesn't mind me getting a watch, especially because I never do an "impulse" purchase. It takes me awhile to make up my mind. She prefers simple, inexpensive watches. Her passion used to be bags. I used to buy her designer bags but...

Evolution!

 By: lhk1 : November 26th, 2014-02:37
To be frank and to be fair, my wife is very supportive of my watch collecting hobby. I notice there is obvious increase of her interest in watches without my direct help. Perhaps, very subtle influence. 1. Initially she knows nothing about watches but she...
