deployand buckle

Hello all, it's probably a silly question but could someone tell me which is the correct side to attach a leather strap with deployant buckle on a watch? I have seen it attached both way, the long bit at 6 O'clock and the other way round.

Thank you

Francois

'The long bit at 6 O'clock' is correct. And any other ways is doable too.

Depend on brands...

Different brands do it differently... there is no "correct" way. But sometimes people change it around because of comfort.. because different deployant clasps have different shapes and lengths and the wearers wrist are also of different sizes, so one side...

Possible, but I believe 'the correct way' is appropriate

Most people wear their watches on their left wrist. If you have the longer part of the strap going from 12 to 6 o’clock , you will notice that it will often rub against your body, clothing, pocket, table, etc, this eventually will torn and or damage...

Thank you, yes but...

I have seen both ways on the same brands, I am talking mostly about pictures and thought that perhaps the way is different in say the US or Europe. Francois

Thank you ..

I thought so as on a normal band with buckle it seems that the long bit (the one without the buckle is always attached at the 6 O'clock lugs. Francois

Agreed the long strap should be attached at 6 o'clock

but I've seen some brands have it reversed for some reason. Unless the strap was put on backwards? Either way, if you have a small wrist and are using a bi-fold deployant where the deployant is fairly long in length, sometimes it is more comfortable to we...

It depends on the buckle, strap length, and wrist size....

I have a 7.25" wrist, and wear my watches on the left wrist. If buckle is a single fold type, I always want it to be on the outer side of my wrist. I have the shorter strap piece at "6", and the longer strap piece at "12". As long as the shorter strap pie...

I've seen and worn both ways....

It really depends on personal preference and comfort. The most common is the long strap at 6 o'clock position, so the tongue of the strap faces outward on a left wrist. I had purchased a GP and GO watch in the past that both were the opposite arrangement....
