THE most beautiful movement

 By: Bruno.M1 : April 16th, 2014-08:24
Was looking at some movement from several brands and wondered which one I like the most. If money didn't matter, which one do you think is the most beautiful ? I saw Lange, Patek, Breguet, Blancpain, independants . And this one was my favorite the way it...

I think

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : April 16th, 2014-09:24
I need to divide that in at least two categories Most beautiful simple - time only movement and most beautiful movement with complications and I think that most beautiful round and rectangular movement should have their own categories I have few more divi...

Patek for me

 By: vitalsigns : April 16th, 2014-10:41
I agree. There is just something about the graceful lines and curves of the Patek chronographs that, IMO, make their movements the most beautiful--beyond even Lange's chronographs (although the double split is a wonder to behold). But of course the Lange ...

There are quite a few options ...

 By: small-luxury-world : April 16th, 2014-11:25
but if we talk about Patek, I would go for this one ... cal. 27-525 PS (or ... Q). It is probably the best you can get from Patek, today. But there still is the Simplicity, the Duality, the 1815 Chronograph ... :-) ...

i agree....

Correction

 By: crown comfort : April 20th, 2014-13:21
I should correct myself, the Ref is actually 9017. There are some reports in the archive by the legendary PeterCDE on this.

I do not know

 By: dr.kol : April 16th, 2014-12:21
what's the most beautiful but the movement of 5170 you showed to us is for sure the most beautiful movement I own. Best, Kari

not the 5170 Kari

 By: Bruno.M1 : April 16th, 2014-12:48
5170 has a nice movement but this is something else, it s a split second perpetual.... think about the 5204

How right you are!

 By: dr.kol : April 16th, 2014-22:54
Sorry. I start to forget even the movement numbers because the baby is sucking everything. Milk from wife, brains from me. Best, Kari

Good choice...

 By: patrick_y : April 16th, 2014-13:02
That is a beautifully finished movement. But have you seen the Montblanc Villeret movements? Especially the 16-29 movement. Mouthwatering. I could argue that this movement may be even more beautiful in person. But your Patek Philippe movement is exception...

The first movement that came to my mind...

 By: ErikS : April 20th, 2014-20:31

Although I admire the beauty in the complexity of many of the chronograph movements posted above, I find the simpler movements tugging more on my heartstrings. One of my favorites has to be the MB&F Legacy Machine 2 And then any movement from Lang &am...
