IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition ”50 Years science for Galapagos”

Sep 14, 2014,05:39 AM

I just wanted to share some quick shots of the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph Edition ”50 Years science for Galapagos”.

Another Limited Edition in the name of the Charles Darwin Research Station’s 50 years of scientific work on the Galapagos Island.

This LE of 500 pieces has stainless steel cases coated with black rubber. 44 mm in diameter and inside is the automatic Caliber 89365, 68 hour power reserve.

What do you think?

Me, I am not overly thrilled by this one, but I am no big fan of black cases….

Still dreaming of the Aquatimer 812…

Best

I hae to write an article about the full range of Aquatimer but I need to find the time to do it. This Chronograph is one of the most interesting of the collection with the "simplest" Aquatimer. Thanks a lot! Fx

Looking forward to your full report, Fx!

I'd wear it as a sport/weekend watch, for sure! How thick is it? What is on the side of the case opposite the crown? These look like daylight shots; do you have any of it lumed? I don't know anything about IWC movements. Is this a column wheel or cam chro...

The watch is 17 mm thick....

Opposite the crown I suspect is the helium valve. I am no expert on chronographs or the caliber 89365, but I suspect it to be column wheel. As for lume shot, sorry no... Glad you like it! :) You should go to your nearest IWC AD and check it out in real - ...

It's ok and I see....

Maybe to differentiate this watch from the other Galapagos Edition which is with white lume? Thank you for looking, Ping. Best Blomman
