...think alike!

Ran into a professional acquaintance yesterday. Hadn't seen him in about 6 months. Tried to pay 100% attention to what he was saying but the 5712j with black strap on his wrist kept distracting me, pulling my eyes downward. I'm not a yellow gold kinda guy, and I have come to the painful conclusion that I prefer the 5712, but....

Now, as regards evolution of the Nautilus: a MR would be interesting and one heck of a challenge if Patek were to try to retain the unique case construction. But then they've kinda jettisoned that with the 5990. I'm actually more interested in:

1. New materials. That bezel has got to be a mega scratch magnet in steel or gold. How about a non-bling material for the bezel that's more scratch-resistant?
2. Evolution of the bracelet clasp. Why can't it be self-adjusting to accommodate the ups and downs in wrist size that come with temperature changes, as eg JLC and Rolex have done?
3. One aesthetic change. AP sorted out the date wheel for the new 15202. Please, Patek, I'm begging you - how about a white-on-blue-grey date wheel for the 5711? Or at least add that little frame around the date aperture that you put on in the 5711p and in the white-dial version!

Do all that and it would be just about perfect. Even as it is I'm thinking that a 5711 may be next on my list. Any of these evolutions would clinch the deal.

(I don't know much technically about the cal 324 so can't comment much on it or how it could evolve.)

Nautilus evolution?

So a big question on my mind right now is where will the Nautilus design go next and how will it evolve? Is it out of the question to expect a Nautilus minute repeater?

Question . . .
