Question on Royal Oak dial

Jun 04, 2010,01:44 AM

Good day all,

I have a AP Royal Oak bought at an AD in Geneva in 1976 and the dial has some marks of "rust". The watch is with AP right now for a full service, change of all the seals, polishing etc. I asked AP if during the overhauled they could change the dial as they cannot repair it. Today I have received the news that they do not have the original dial with the "AP" at six O'clock but only the one with the "AP" at 12 O'clock. My question is, should I have the dial changed and would the change affect negatively the value of the watch?

Thank you for your comments.

Francois
