PuristSPro Announcement

It has come to our attention that some French 'amateur' blog-gers, in the true glorious sense of the word, have posted inaccuracies and rumours.

We must redress the inadequate reporting and rumours that are typical of the worst characteristic of our favoured media - the Internet.  Irrespective of 'liberty' of personal choice to "express oneself", there must be no unsubstantiated rumours and innuendo as this is what ThePuristS and PuristSPro have been firmly committed against from the beginning.  Our Mission continues......

I address each of the falsehoods objectively and directly:

1)  PuristSPro is NOT asking brands to pay $50,000 per month; though we are really flattered by the high valuation placed upon our services!  We thank the blog-gers for their high regard that such a figure seemed reasonable and 'fit to print'; the alternative reason would be inaccurate and inadequate journalism....surely not!  smile

Unlike print media that can charge $50,000 and upwards for a full-colour page, sponsorship rates of PuristSPro brand forums are far lower than 'static' print advertising. This is despite our forums delivering an 'interactive' and specialised "watch-lover" environment.

Advertising rates on PuristSPro are separate from forum sponsorship and are far more reasonable than other media to target the "watch-lover".

2) PuristSPro has complete editorial independence as seen in our standard contract clause that is signed by the Brand CEO or delegated executive:

"It is agreed between PuristSPro and BRAND that editorial independence of the forum is in the best interests of both parties. As such, no direct interference will be made by BRAND or any of its employees or owners regarding the moderation of discussions on the forum. PuristSPro and its assigned BRAND forum moderator, as well as the entire moderator team, will make reasonable efforts to maintain discussions on the forum to fair, polite and reasonable standards."

3) PuristSPro FPJ Forum closure was not a case of "Pay $50,000 monthly or be closed" as portrayed in salacious blogging.
PuristSPro has no wish to make FPJ a martyr; that arduous task should be for others to take on.....

We get a lot of complaints about FPJ watches construction, failing, manufacture faults, after-sales inefficacy etc. Not as many as one other brand but still enough to "defend".
The original e-mail reached out to FPJ because of concerns about fulfilling the 3 criteria for brand fora on PuristSPro:-
"A closer collaboration between PuristSPro and Montres Journe will help you defend the internet space and make it the best tool for instant market communication. Brad needs more information and access to new developments. Obviously, to continue the forum, and for Montres Journe to continue to develop and expand your brand reach we would need three things. We already have the enthusiastic volunteer moderator in Brad Schwartz.

We need two further commitments from Montres Journe in the form of:
1) regular information and material or access to technical and historical answers.
2) financial sponsorship but maintaining our editorial independence, as that is our unique PuristS credibility.
[Confidential business details edited]   As a 'legacy brand' and a long time supporter, we are ready to discuss these terms with you and prepare a plan with clear goals and levels of user reach."

There was no mention of forum closure; just asking for a discussion of options to keep going. The forum was closed because neither of the commitments was forthcoming. We did not have any chance to discuss a formal working relationship with a legacy brand.  Brand fora must satisfy our 3 requirements. If FPJ "had no reason to intervene", we have to conserve our resources to where we can mutually make a difference.

This is not meant to re-open discussion about FPJ Forum; that thread is finished.  General discussions about the watches should continue in the generic HoMe forum.

Our announcement is purely to address the 'rūmor obscenus'.   smile
