my "impulse" buy

Apr 04, 2011,04:52 AM

For a couple of weeks I have wanted a dual time zone watch whereby both times are completely independent since I will be doing plenty of traveling to +0.5 hours timezone.
I was completely sold on the FP Journe Resonance but did not have the opportunity to see one "live".
So when I was in Shanghai, passed by the Parmigiani boutique, and went home with this...

The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda 42 Hemisphere.

It's a great watch, great size, and love the open-worked case. Kinda give it a skeletonized look and it has two day/night indicators (which the FP Journe did not).
Not as prestigious as the FP Journe, but the watch provides me with the functions I need.

Sorry for the bad picture....

oh, and I bought this for the wife...

cause I take really poor pictures... but I can assure you they are genuine all right... cheers, gg

But the Parmigiani really looks very 'strange'

The watch is ok...

My wife and I own several Parmigianis, and while I wasn't a big fan of the initial Hemispheres watches, I really like this open dial treatment a lot. Nice choice! Best, Gary G

congrats gunners

finally you take the shot on Parmigiani, although I dont know much about this beast, it is very interesting complication watch for traveller. I would still keep my dreaming of Sonata as best traveller watch huge congrats again and enjoy best, ES

congrats, glad to see you buy something outside the Langes and Pateks!!

a most useful watch, but i cant claim to know alot about Parmigianis. i am not a big fan of their designs, there is always something i can nitpick about!! congrats once again, best, Horo

it was really difficult...

 By: glorygunners : April 4th, 2011-08:59
.... trying to find a lange / patek that suits what i need. I bought the watch plainly and simply because of its complication. A case of necessity and functionality over aesthetics and brand. However, so far, it is growing on me... Cheers, GG

These watch photos look unusual to me

Not to nitpick, as I am certainly not a good photographer, but the parmigiani does not look right in the date window... note the position of the 3 compared to the rest of the visible date wheel. I have also never seen a patek model like this one shown wit...

It sure is genuine.
