New silicone strap for PuristS ABR watch

Oct 02, 2013,22:05 PM

Dear Forumners,

After a meticulous R&D process, St Gallen Watch has a new improved version of the medical silicone strap for the Disinfectible range.

Our PuristS All-Black Rescue watch is part of the Disinfectible range and originally came with a three-piece strap system for easy cleaning and disinfection. It was a tad difficult to put on single-handed and hurt people with odd-shaped wrists.

The new strap system is only two-piece and comfortable.

Comfortable soft silicone strap system II

Single stud and loop keeper system can be operated single-handedly

Lift the strap from its loop keeper

Pull the strap from the stud

That's the stud

The assembly springs open flat.
Note the undulating grooves that allow more air circulation for comfort.

Unlike the other rubber straps, these St Gallen silicone strap system II does not leave pinch marks on skin

The new Orange strap system II may attract the PuristS who like orange .....I think there are a few of those?

The regular colours are available too EXCEPT red , which is the limited edition for original PuristS watches.

MTF

Yes, I think we have a few here! Best, Nicolas

Great news, MTF!

The original straps were a bit clumsy to put on, to say the least and now it is on Nato strap. This one is way cool and looks much easier to put. Thanks for the news! Ken

Interesting..

How did you get the Nato strap installed on your ABR? S

There are "bars" for the leather strap which came with ABR..

 By: KIH : October 3rd, 2013-02:38
... and using that as the spring bars for other watches. Nato may be a bit thick, but it is doable. Ken

To further clarify, the "bars" only come with the leather strap

 By: AnthonyTsai : October 3rd, 2013-06:11
They don't come with the ABR itself. Cheers, Anthony

I'll order a leather strap with bars as well then as soon as I get a reply from them. Thanks for the clarification AT :-), Hope all else is well. S

Very Cool :-)

Screw bars needed only for leather straps

 By: MTF : October 4th, 2013-14:47
Just to be clear for new readers: the silicone straps do not need screw bars. MTF

Correct

 By: xtype : October 5th, 2013-17:50
Which seems obvious from your great photos of the silicone strap installed, but maybe only to someone with the watch. Worth mentioning though, in case anyone is thinking of making an order, to include the screw bars for more strap options. Here are some p...

If we're going to do a group order, I'll go in for two (black and orange). Just let me know. Greg

I'm in - perhaps a mass shipment to SoCal would be warranted?

Only $30?? I would think owners of the watch will order in several colors. What a great deal.

Nice re-design on the strap

Thanks for the info MTF. Looks more comfortable than the original buckle style. But wish they offered it in PuristS Red and short strap too. Regards, ED-209

PuristS Red strap not economical to produce

 By: MTF : October 5th, 2013-15:51
Since the PuristS Red was a limited edition of 178 pieces, it is not commercially viable to make a small batch just for PuristS. Strictly speaking, they could produce Strap System II in any colour (including Red) because the exclusivity applied to the ori...

A quick review of the original soft rubber strap, or: "Why I will try the new strap."

I thought that I would contribute to this thread seeing as I have been wearing this watch as my daily beater for the last couple of years, since they were originally offered. Splitting and stacking wood, hunting, working on the tractor, swimming, salt wat...

Melvyn, this is a much better designed strap.

My only concern is about its durability. Having said that, I will certainly get two - one for spare, considering the cost is only 10% of croco strap. Regards Ling
