What do you think happened to the ceramic (from serial number to the spider logo)? I got it new this way, it can't be corrossion, or caused by my sweat. Material texture or factory mishandling? Thanks....

I am no ceramic expert....

Delamination

Rei By definition, heat cured composite material (ceramic) does not "corrode" from contact with simple sweat at natural world temperatures. Unless you work with hydrofluoric acid but then, if you did, you would be an expert chemist and know the danger. ;)...

Thanks for the explanation, MTF.

I bought it from "E" who was LW's AD in S'pore only after recently no more. So, I contacted LW through e-mail and they don't seem to understand as it is difficult to make an assesment w/out examining the real watch. I used loop to study it and it does loo...

Those are the texture of the material used as caseback (I believe ceramic). They can't be cleaned as they are not spots/stains. It's like a texture of a natural stone... you get the idea. I ald contacted LW and they asked me to send the watch to London (s...

The most visible ones are at the bottom of the pic where the crown is

They stretch from serial #68/75 to the left where the spider web logo is. There are others too but the most are located near the crown of the watch. Apologize if I can't explain any clearer as English is not my mother's tongue :)

Strange...

But sure that the guys at LW will look after you. Let us know how you get on, Andrew

Are you sure that it is ceramic?

I would guess the the back is steel with a black DLC or a PVD treatment

Could very well be the case...

Anyways, I expect LW to take care of it. If they could assure me this wouldn't affect the movement, then I'd leave it be.
