Yes! We Malaysians LOVE Discs Burgers!

Jan 01, 2008,01:12 AM

What a coincidence! We 3 Malaysians received our 3 new Seiko Disc Burgers yesterday on new year's eve. A pleasant surprise and a great watch to wear to usher in the new year.

A detailed report, and excellent pics by Kong can be found here: click here

These watches, to my knowledge, are not sold outside Japan. Nor do they ship outside Japan. But our ever resourceful Malaysian Purist (the person who Kong referred to in his post) managed to order and receive (top secret process : ) )  3 new Seiko burgers. One white (for himself to add to his initial black burger that Kong first saw per his post), one for another Purist, and one for me. Yay!

Some details about the watch:

Movement: 6R15 Seiko Automatic movement (Seconds hack. 50hrs power reserve)
Accuracy: +25s to -15s per day
WR: 100m
Diameter: 43mm including crown
Diameter of crystal: 35mm
Thickness: 12.9mm

The 3 of us met at a KFC outlet in Petaling Jaya within 2 hours after the watches had arrived. Watch fanatics we are! None of us had a camera with us, so I had to make use of my Nokia phone camera. But I guess some pics are better than none at all. Apologies for the poor quality photos. Enjoy!

Was enjoying the watch while driving back, and I just had to take this picture!

I wore this watch today and a new year brunch party at a friend's house, and almost everybody commented and asked me about this watch. And none of them are into watches at all. It was so funny and strange for me to pass the watch around to them and tell them about it. Just like one of our GTG sessions. The only difference is that none of them are into watches!

Happy New Year to all!

PS: Kong - We should take a group picture when we go down to Singapore next next weekend for the SWA class!

buy it? for me, for resale, for someone else. is there a likelyhood of them releasing it worldwide or are the Japs being as selfish about their good stuff as ever

Graham, please don't use the term "Japs" as it is derogatory

"Japanese" would be better as I don't want our Japanese PuristS to get offended. Much appreciated! Cheers, Anthony

Congrats to you all for acquriing these strange but intriguing watches. They are exceptionally well made and being mechanical instead of quartz makes them even more special. Having seen the movement in the metal, they are really quite something. I have no...
