My vote is an IWC 3536 ti--I don't think there's one superfluous design element--and titanium seems to go very well with the minimalist construct. I think Rolex Submariner is Minimal. (even despite all the writing on the dial, somehow.) What's your idea o...

Hard to find more minimalist.

But I like my Meistersinger : And of course my Tangante : Fr.Xavier...

I knew that Singer was coming!

I thought of it as soon as I clicked off goodnight, at around 1 am last night, watches, watches, watches. That Nomos is cool too--always wish they were larger. Perhaps one day...

The Nomos looks bigger than it is.

 By: foversta : August 30th, 2008-14:18
Mostel, the bezel is so thin that with a Tangomat (38mm) you really have the feeling to wear a 40mm watch. For example, my Tangente (35mm) looks bigger than my 1815 (36mm). Fr.Xavier

Instantly comes to mind

I am referring to the watch on the right of course - the MIH Watch. I think it is as minimalist as a watch with annual calender and chronograph functions can get. Many would know that both watches are creations of the same man, which was the reason I put ...

OF COURSE! The MIH

Great thread Mostel. Where do I start??? Both of these are up there. Unfortunately the Lange is not mine yet but highly minimalist. The RG's clean dial makes it very minimalist as well. Both of these rate as well, one for the simple rotating discs for tel...

Yeah, maybe....

Meistersinger. the first i thought of because of its lack of hands, but is it really minimal with all the detail on the index ring Cali dial, more minimal than the first one i think King Seiko is fairly minimal one i no longer have, Benrus type II from 19...

it is also my avatar. My perhaps all time favorite chronograph. The 1960's Heuer Carrera. (sorry, forgot ref#!) Love the case, the big crown, and iconic history. This one also came with an unworn, still-stiff mint bracelet that I have to put on! This thre...

Minimalism

 By: Park : August 30th, 2008-21:02
This thread reveals varying concepts of minimalism in watch design. I would have thought the key issues to be: *No decorative elements (e.g., ceraphs on the font, script, non-primary colors, engraving) *Everything about the form follows the function In th...

Complication, Time only and chrono. i see 'minimalist' as having as little on the dial as it needs to do the job its intended for. the MIH is very minimal for an annual calendar, but still has several functions showing without fuss so it wins my vote for ...
