Thanks for the Piaget Moon again
Sep 14, 2009,07:31 AM
That white gold cratered moon still looks good against the grey sky.
Pity that the current Mrs MTF does not like cushion-shaped cases. Funny thing.....taste!

MTF

Report of my visit at the Salon du Collectionneur
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-12:11
The Salon du Collectionneur is taking place for the second time in a very prestigious place of Paris: The Grand-Palais (between the 11th and the 20th of September). This show is organized by the Syndicat National des Antiquaires. The exhibitors are antiqu...
Part 1: Lange
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-12:27
As always, I was perfectly welcome by the Lange team (big thank to Gaetan!). The surprise was the presence of a stunning WG Tourbillon Pour le Mérite. The Lange booth: WG Tourbillon PLM: Did you say "Chaîne & fusée" ? Richard Lange PLM: The new PG Lange 3...
Amazing timepieces on display!
By: dxboon : September 13th, 2009-13:07
Which watch houses the caseback pictured in your last photo? The engraving is gorgeous! That WG Zeitwerk looks fantastic on your wrist, FX! Hmm...a sign of things to come for your collection? Cheers, Daos
THE WG PLM IS DA SUPRISE!
By: amanico : September 13th, 2009-13:31

Part 2: Vacheron
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-12:37
Thanks to Josephine, I had the opportunity to handle the 4 watches of the latest set of the Masques collection. Believe me, it is very difficult to shoot them. The Vacheron booth: The Masques: A few more pics: Fr.Xavier...
The Masques series is pretty...
By: dxboon : September 13th, 2009-13:11
...and they are wonderful works of art, but ultimately not my taste in terms of a timepiece. Now, that 1921 Americaine is a beautiful, eccentric piece that I'd love to own. Thanks for the photos! Cheers, Daos
Strange how the " Masques " don't talk to me
By: amanico : September 13th, 2009-13:30
In fact, they make me afraid! There is something about Death with them I don't like at all, while the Mercators are pure marvels and pieces of poetry. The Explorateurs are a step under the Mercators, for me, even if they are interesting. The 1921 is a hit...
Ahhh......
By: MiniCooper : September 14th, 2009-12:02
we disagree my friend...... Cheers
I like these masks the best so far
By: AnthonyTsai : September 13th, 2009-19:27
because the sapphire underneath the mask isn't darked out. I like being able to see the 4 discs underneath. Cheers, AT
Scary
By: MTF : September 14th, 2009-08:31
Fr X, Like Nicholas, I am also scared by the Masks, but if you have to look at them as art pieces, at least the solid dials are not as distracting as these transparent discs. A Mercator that the current Mrs MTF and I did not get in 2003 at VC Boutique Gen...
Part 3: Panerai
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-12:50
I only shot one Panerai, the Radiomir Tourbillon GMT + the Radiomir Titanium (Minerva caliber) of our friend Patrick: This Radiomir Titanium is gorgeous... Fr.Xavier...

Part 4: Piaget
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-12:58
Thanks to Franck, I had the opportunity to see the two big novelties from Piaget: The Moonphase and the Regulateur. I already presented these watches in my SIHH report but it is a pleasure to shoot them again... especially the WG version of the Moonphase....

Part 5: watchmaker from Piaget

FX, do you know which model will receive the lovely golden engraved movement? Thanks, Daos
Part 6: Roger Dubuis
By: foversta : September 13th, 2009-13:20
I only shot one watch: The skeletonized Excalibur with Double Flying Tourbillons. A very impressive watch I must confess. The dial may look very busy, it is very easy to read the time on it. Please note it is a prototype, the movement was not working. Enj...
