A couple of new additions to the family...

By: Gaz (registered) Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

Just wanted to share this on the Purist as I had a pretty busy but exciting week.

First up was the arrival of this little fella, Vincent.

He "hatched" on 20 May in Sydney after a rather long delivery.  But his mum pulled through like a trooper and they are both doing very well.  If you were wondering, he is named after Vincent Calabrese. smile  My wife thinks its after Van Gogh but we can both live in our own realities.

On 21 May I received a call from my good friend, who also happened to be IMHO the finest swiss watch ADs in Australia.  He congratulated me with even more news.  So in between settling classes, I snuck off to his store.

He had something very nice for me, still sealed in its factory packed "placenta".  Keeping in theme with earlier events, we "bursted the water" and eventually cut the umbilical cord.  A proud father holding the second delivery.  Not sure if you can guess what this piece was...

Making sure everything is in place...

And of course, the wristshot but more scans to follow in the coming weeks on the Patek forum.  The movement and its finishing is just amazing!

What a nice way to end a week with my 5124G and to have an opportunity to experience a "cheesy" advertising slogan.  But as more experienced fathers have told me, "now the fun really begins". smile

Cheers

Gaz

Congratulations on both your new additions!

but of course a huge congrats to your new son Vincent!

Congrats on your new Patek, and try to get as much sleep as you can.  Time flies by even faster when you have kids, and I can't believe almost 9 months has already flew by with my 2nd.

Cheers,
Anthony

Congrats on both arrivals. UR a lucky man. :) [nt]

Best wishes to Mrs Gaz and a big welcome to Vincent. You should tap Calabrese for a commission...

But no huryy, mate...LOL

Big congrats for THE big moment...Nice to associate it with a new watch...I did the same than you for my daughter's birth.

.....and thanks for letting me be part of the PP "birth" last night smile   The watch is really very very different IRL to how it photographs, and I've realised that its virtually impossible to get an accurate perception of it other than in the flesh. I really love the dial colour, very 1940s looking in a way!

Vincent (I'll have to get used to not calling him "Tick" LOL) is adorable, and I hope to meet him soon!

Congrats Gaz!

Young Vincent looks very handsome!

Like his dad? Or mum?

Anyhow he looks extremely healthy, which is the most important thing.

So the PP will go to him in the fullness of time? It is also handsome but of course in a different way!

Congrats again on two significant arrivals within a few days.

Peter

as a present to your newborn i've attached a pic of one of his namesakes pieces that i treasure.

btw, you can buy a swatch that looks just like your newborn smile  despite 2 of my own and 2 steppies i still get broody and i'm a bloke.

wishing him a long and happy life. may he inherit your love of horology.

Graham

Hi Gaz,

Wow!That's really busy and exciting week for you and the small fellow!

And love the way you celebrated the new addition with the new addition that holds the theme "You dont own a patek and You are just merely keeping it for the next generation".

Congrats!!
