Photos from Christopher Ward website
I felt obligated to give a quick update after my first cautionary post in January about not ignoring what your body is telling you. Again, not looking for sympathy. It is what it is.
This week started the last main step to leukemia recovery, a stem cell transplant scheduled for Thursday. All my doctors have been very pleased with my progress from the first steps, continuing the same thoughts into the transplant.
But this is about watches, specifically the Christopher Ward Bell Canto. After my wife looked over my shoulder while I was reading a post on the brand on this forum, I mentioned that I’ve become really attracted to this watch and am specifically impressed with the reviews regarding quality and finishing, both in these forms and elsewhere online. Her immediate response was, “just buy it, you have cancer”—a line she had already used two other instances over these past few months, first for a JD, then a vintage AP. I told her I have to stop showing her things I like, but not before first asking if I could buy a Series 1 XKE, which was met with an immediate “no”. Was worth a try.
So yesterday I placed my order, paid the deposit, and received confirmation. Purple dial and strap. Expected delivery to begin in November. Very excited. Now I just have to live that long. LOL
