I'm no lawyer, but…

if I have understood your post correctly – and as somebody who was involved in helping watch companies to fight against fakes – I believe it is illegal in many markets to use a brand's name or logo on a product that is not authentic. Any lawyers here can probably tell us whether or not such activity constitutes a breach of intellectual property law. If it does, then IMHO there is no way such advertisements should be allowed anywhere on ThePuristS and you are entirely justified in following the forum guidelines - perhaps you would be at fault for condoning such activity. Lawyers, what do you think?

Anthony, just one question:

Do you contemplate allowing sellers of OEM straps? It looks to me like you are. I think you would be okay either way. One distinction, too. Aftermarket straps are not "inauthentic" from my perspective unless they purport that their straps are, in fact, OE...

sellers. As far as the arrogant comment goes, a lot of the reason why this is my site and group of choice is because there is a lack of arrogance. You and the other moderators I know are the best! Tony
