Four watches in one: the de Grisogono OtturatOre

 By: foversta : October 6th, 2011-13:48
During a presentation with Mr GĂ©rald Roden in Paris, I had the opportunity to discover the latest watch from de Grisogono, the OtturatOre. The OtturatOre is a very important watch for de Grisogono because it reflects the ambition of the brand I presented ...

All that for that???

Aesthetically speaking, not my cup of tea, not at all... Thick, big, well... Not my cup of tea. Mechanically, I have my doubts, I was much more impressed by the watch which was released 7 or 8 years ago, in black gold, which worked ly the focus of a camer...

"That" is really impressive.

You are thinking about the Occhio Ripetizione Minuti which was working like an old camera. And like any de Grisogono watch, it was as bulky as this one with its thick and large lugs and less comfortable believe me. The rotating dial is really impressive a...

Yes, we can call it a strange beauty... I also like the "off centered" lugs which are not... off-centered in you take into account the pushers. Fx

How many?

FrX, Thank you for the report. Putting aside the "elephant in the room" to ignore the pushers for now, I like the idea of a choice of dial display x 4. The only watches in my.....er...'collection' that do this are the Casio ProTrek or Pathfinder But they ...

Thanks Melvin for your input ! [nt]

Very interesting reading...

...even if the watch looks like a brick of gold on the wrist! I actually find the rotating/hidden complications very amusing and enjoyable, but this piece aesthetically is not for me. For me, the De Grisogono watches too often are more interesting in theo...

Thanks a lot Daos !

I understand your comments. De Grisogono hs its own world with a quite heavy style. I believe you prefer a more subtle design. Fx

Simple and interesting !

Supposedly to be 28,800 VPH / 4Hz in their spec. Has the spec changed to 3 Hz? Thanks for the report FX. Kong

About the caliber frequency...

 By: foversta : October 7th, 2011-14:07
I first wrote it was 4hz: it is the official frequency. Then I edited it to 3hz seeing in some pages of the press kit that it had a 21600 caliber. But I'm sure now that the right frequency is 4hz due to the construction of the movement. I edited the text ...

I have to admit...

when it comes to originality in watch design, Grisogono really takes the crown (pardon the pun) Thanks for posting, Fx.

Thanks Davo !

It was very important for de Grisogono that this ambition was supported by an original achievement. Fx

Interesting watch.

That's not my kind of watch, but I like the movement and functions. A very interesting timepiece. Thanks for sharing, FX. Best, Vte

I think if they pt as much effort into designing the dial and case as much as the movement, we would have a killer watch. Cant fault their technical expertise though but the dial...errr....boring. To me at least.
