The JLC SIHH 2014 Collection.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-01:27
Once again, as each year, I will shorty introduce the pieces of the 2014 collection, from the Grande Maison. Is it an exceptional millesime, in terms of creativity? Well, I would say that it is an evolution rather than a revolution- a consolidation- BUT a...

For me

this year winner is regardless very beautiful and top notch MUT MR tourby The Duometre à Quantième Lunaire 40,5 Enamel Grand Feu dial Wow best Duometre so far for me Cheers Damjan

Fully second your list, but would add the perpetual tourbillon ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : January 20th, 2014-01:45
.... which is one of the most beautiful perpetuals I have ever seen. Marcus

Thanks for your input, Marcus. The choice of an automatic calibre on these 2 watches

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-14:51
Has been largely and deeply discussed, with Mr Riedo, the new JLC CEO... We'll discuss thatb topic here, too. Interesting. Best, Nicolas

Agree on the duo [nt]

 By: moc : January 20th, 2014-01:46

Not bad at all....that Duometre!

We'll see you soon Mo

From all I saw, I seriously think that JLC has the smarter offer...

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-10:15
And some surprises will come later... Best, my friend. Nicolas

That will come,no worries.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-16:16
I duly noted that the SS was one of your favourite... ;) Best, Nicolas

My first thought is.. Noble elegance.. And remembering classy values.. But new definitions

 By: hs111 : January 20th, 2014-02:27
.. For me the Hybris Mechanica Eleven, with MUT MR and a Tourbi is a revelation, of course far above my reach. - The rest of the collection is - how shall I say - refinement and/ or continous evolution, just as you remarked. For some issued pieces, I find...

Nice novelties.

 By: VMM : January 20th, 2014-02:27
I like them all, but the MUT 38,5 and the automatic Reverso are great adds to the current collection, the central seconds MUT looks fantastic too. The Duometre UTT looks so fresh, I like it. Chocolate Reverso looks very special, and the Hybris 11 is an am...

The MUT 38, 5 mm is a star... Not the only one, though.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-16:26
Which makes this collection quite smart, I think. Best, Amigo, Nicolas.

The Master Ultra Thin 1907 and the Reverso Chocolate for me!

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 20th, 2014-03:09
And if I could dream - the UT MR! :) Would have loved to see a new Memovox this year... But you can't have it all... Thank you for the report, my friend! Best Blomman

Not a single sports watch...?

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 20th, 2014-03:23
Or are they still hiding something from us....?! ;) Best Blomman

Shows new master compressor chrono in ceramic case.

Yes, indeed, I will try to take some pics of this one.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-07:25
New Amvox II ,too... Well nothing new, just a transponder which allows you ALL Aston Cars... Best, Nicolas

I guess the Reverso's are 'ultra-chic' sports-watches...

 By: Bobbe : January 20th, 2014-05:11
maybe a little bit old-fashioned, but nonetheless sportswatches :)

Well, in that case...

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 20th, 2014-11:02
We should also consider the Master line as sports watches... As the predecessor was launched as one...! ;) " Rate the life of the man of action " Best Blomman ...

+1

 By: FanFrancisco : January 20th, 2014-07:00

I would have guessed it. ;) More to come, my friend.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-16:46
Madness is not absent from this collection, be sure of that. As for the Memovox, maybe we'll have some new offers in the years to come? Honestly, I don't know, but I can't help dreaming of a black dialed no date version.... Best, Nicolas

Indeed its time for a new Memovox! :)

By: blomman Mr Blue : January 20th, 2014-23:14
Have great time, my friend! :) Best Blomman

Maybe.. A Black MMV someday ? .. That would be a dark, great Candy !.. ;)

 By: hs111 : January 21st, 2014-01:06
.. but we know, patience, until things unfold by themselves .. ;) Best and have a great stretchb of Geneve - days for you .. - Must be a bit hectic, but a great atmosphere.. Best, hs

Duometre à Quantième Lunaire 40.5

 By: jrwong23 (aka watchthebin) : January 20th, 2014-03:09
Thanks Nicolas for the early post! For me, the most interesting is the Duometre à Quantième Lunaire 40,5 Enamel Grand Feu dial . it may be my first JLC!! cheers robin

I cannot disagree... This one troubles me a lot.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2014-23:22
The Q.L was not my favourite Duometre. Not that it is not a great Watch, but I much preferred the Chrono and the UTT. Now, I m starting to xonder if I should not go for the 3... The enamel dial is to die for... Truly. Best, Robin. Nicolas

I quite like...

 By: Dave G : January 20th, 2014-05:03
The ultra thin 1907 in WG with enamel dial, and see good value in these 5mm or thinner cases. I would say over the past five years that I cant keep all the other thin versions from JLC straight in my head. It seems they have made many variants from 38mm t...

Funny coincidence... I was thinking about stacking al the UT cases...

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-03:01
To show their différences... One day! Best, Nicolas

+1 on that.. Very well taken point.. It has become difficult to follow them all..

 By: hs111 : January 21st, 2014-07:30
.. do you/we think it is to some degree, because of the Asia - markets, with smaller wrist sizes - or is it just " ètre a la mode" and going with the flow? i do agree, that sometimes, a bit more coherence, and a bit of "less is more" still would be desire...

Enamel dial

 By: tudorctin : January 20th, 2014-05:32
I'm not a fan of Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire but with enamel dial it looks terrific. It looks totally different although it's the same watch. When can we see the original Duometre with enamel dial? Am I asking too much? Thank you Nicholas. Regards, Const...

Same here, my friend. The QL enamel won my heart...

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-03:05
Real pictures? I will work on them and try to share something soon. Best, Nicolas

Those enamel dials..

 By: Seeks : January 20th, 2014-06:02
Those enamel dials look beautiful and am sure will be breathtaking when we see and hold it. Not every year we get releases for enamel dials. I also like the UT RG with with the eggshell dial. you were right - there's something for everybody! many thanks f...

Definitely the MUT1907

 By: Bobbe : January 20th, 2014-06:39

I really love the Master Ultra Thin 1907 White Gold with its Enamel dial, the hands are new as well, compared with the rose gold version or the Jubilee and what a pair of beautiful hands these are;) don't really understand the need to have "Email Grand Fe...

I totally agreewith you on the writings. Not necesary at all.

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-09:42
I hope that JLC will suppress that on the definitive watches. Best, Nicolas

Merci Nicolas. Did you have a chance to take some ......

 By: Sandgroper : January 21st, 2014-11:52
pictures of the Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire with Email Grand Feu dial and a very nice 40.5mm. To me this new iteration looks Fabulous, "Envouting" as you so well say;). It is definitely one of the nicest novelty of the JLC collection so far, in my opinio...

The itch for an enamel dial just got worse!

 By: walidk : January 20th, 2014-13:08
Thank you Nicolas for your continuously great work in sharing the beauties of the house of JLC with us. JLC's enamel pieces this year are stunning and I can't get the reverso TTR enamel out of my mind... well and the rest of this evolution of a collection...

Thanks for your input; Walid. For the shock(s), you will have to wait a bit...

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-14:45
But not too long... It is a matter of weeks. But already, some cool, smart and interesting offers. Best, Nicolas

... and a hearty oofah! The new Duo's are sweet. Love the model with enamel dial. Tres magnifique! When will they make one for me in stainless steel? Thanks for a great report, Nic'. See you soon, my friend. - Scott

They will never do it in ss, my friend. The Duometre will always be in noble metals.

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2014-21:35
So, for our double Jubilé, did you decide something? Personally, it will be a Duometre... And you? Best, Nicolas

A Duometre without question...

The Ultra thins for me

 By: jml_watches : January 21st, 2014-12:52
Hi Fab update - the ultra thins all have a lot of appeal. The auto Reverso looks especially tempting. If if we go into the realms of impossibility then the Hybris Mechanica Eleven is wonderful . Cheers JML

Agreed. The Chocolate is somptuous, the SS White Grained is gorgeous

 By: amanico : January 22nd, 2014-07:51
And the Auto is very smart. Best, Nicolas

Grande Reverso Night & Day question

 By: sfoskett : January 21st, 2014-14:42
I'm interested in the first-ever automatic (non-Squadra) Reverso for two reasons: 1) This means that Jaeger-LeCoultre now has 25 different case sizes in the Reverso lineup (no kidding!) 2) The calibre used, 967B, is presumably related to calibre 967A, cur...

Interesting questions. The only thing I know for the moment is that this is a round

 By: amanico : January 22nd, 2014-09:05
Movement, not a rectangular shaped one. I asked for a picture of the calibre, and will wait to have all the remaining informations to include them in my review. Best, Nicolas

Interesting!

 By: sfoskett : January 22nd, 2014-11:22
So it's a round movement like the 967A. BTW, I typoed it before: The 967A is used in a the 29mm Night & Day, not the (imaginary) 39mm watch. So perhaps it really is exactly the same movement! One could imagine that a circular movement that fits in a 2...

It is a round movement,

Automatic reverso is interesting...

 By: Echi : January 21st, 2014-23:22
wonder if it's borne out of market clamor OR if it's a push to add new customers that shy away from a reverso because it's a manual. either way, it doesn't matter. it's a sensible move and i just hope that it doesn't mean the start of the end for manual w...

It is clearly answering to a demand for automatic movements.

 By: amanico : January 22nd, 2014-09:07
Which is smart. As now, you can have one is a nicely dimensioned case. Yes, very smart offer. Best, Nicolas

Does the new automatic reverso night and day have a

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2014-12:51
The " Artisticas " let me really speechless... I didn't expect that, it was a breathtaking surprise. But the rest of the collection is mature, well thought and smart. JLC did it again, as a consistent manufacture it is! Best, Sid. It was a real pleasure t...
