Strap suggestions

Mar 30, 2012,06:56 AM

Hi. I still think well aged bracelet is best on this one. But I agree with Imran if you must wear a strap. Perhaps a brown unpadded calf strap (sort of Panerai or aviator style) or a black woven kevlar look one as found on IWC pilot or JLC Polaris maybe.

Please show us what these look like if you decide to give it a try.

Best J.

I have been playing around with my 1655. I love the watch....but have just never been a big fan of it on its original bracelet. It just seems like too much metal...a bit like the Milgauss on its bracelet. I have tried it on Nato and that doesn't really wo...

Not sure try a brown matt calf strap :) [nt]

Maybe a less shiny alternative? Well I have to get one myself to know it for sure. I'll pm you my address ;-) Regards Tyler

Well, I think this rubber strap is a bit too modern for the 1655.

Try a Tropic, my friend, if you want to use a rubber strap. There are also some nice Cordovan straps, or high quality Natos, which can work very nicely. A modern Oyster Bracelet is another good choice. Especially when the watch is as nice as yours. All th...

not a lot of fans for this strap...

.....will show when in the flesh...it actually handles it better than it looks on scan. I think the nato works really well on a number of Rolex...especially the Sub in my view. But not so much the Explorers.... maybe i need to try harder. HAGWE

Not really my cup of tea... [nt]

I am not really a fan of rubber straps on Rolex's.

That's a combo I'd never seen before! but to me doesn't really work! Although I am generally not a big bracelets fan, I think on this one it remains the natural choice! then I've seen sme nive Nato combos as well! Nice and desirable watch though (it's on ...

It looks ok with rubber IMO
