Real Pics of the LINDE WERDELIN 3-Timer Racing - Red & Yellow

Aug 12, 2010,12:56 PM

The latest LINDE WERDELIN 3-Timer Racing Series launch with their partner in Singapore, E’collezione, is nicely timed to celebrate the annual FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX from 24 to 26 September.

Similar to the recently launched 3-Timer Steel Green (limited to 22 pieces), the key attributes of the 3-Timer are maintained.

The variation, for these two pieces to commemorate the FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX 2010 (limited to 9 pieces per colour), instead of changing the colour theme of the dial, the racing colour theme of RED and YELLOW are applied onto the bezel, the straps and the ardillon buckle.

For friends who wear their 'Racing Watches' to races, either of these
RED   or YELLOW   LINDE WERDELIN 3-Timer Racing could be your next new company to the 2010 race.

Some pictures for your viewing pleasure.... Enjoy!

LINDE WERDELIN  3-Timer Racing, FORMULA 1 SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX 2010 Edition

Starting with the Steel RED ...

Red hour markers on the bi-directional bezel.

The Hex-fasteners securing the straps to the watch are internally filled RED too.

Red perforated-pattern on black calf leather strap with matching red lining.  The lining material could be Alcantara.

The font used, both alpha-numeric is specially designed, sort of the "LINDE WERDELIN Font".

Inner hour markers and tips of the hour-and-minute hands are coated with luminescent.

Alternate brushed and polished finishing are used on the case to create stunning contrast.

Combined with the facets, the angular case seems to be ever-changing with different angle of light reflecting from it.

The flow of the line continued through the seamless integration from the watch-body to the strap.

Those pointed corners are not easy to be machined.  To make matter even more challenging, is the alternate polishing.

Extreme care and skill is needed to maintain the straight edges during the alternate polishing.  Any additional brushing over the polished
shiny surface will result in the lost of the definition of the straight edge.

The solid caseback with the Racing word and the serial number engraved.

The matching coloured ardillon buckle with the red LW logo.

A quick-shot of the bright luminescent hands and markers.

Next is the Steel Yellow ...

Note how the case responded with lighting from different angle ....

The polished signed LW crown.

Marvelous facet-work and polishing!

Now the question, which colour model do you like ?  smile

what's your thought of the 3-Timer? Kong

I think...

 By: BDLJ : August 12th, 2010-16:17
...the ultimate step would be to match the Luminova with theme colour...that would be something.

Care to elaborate?

 By: Kong : August 14th, 2010-11:11
Hi Ben Could you elaborate more? Which area/s? The design team may tune in here Thanks. Kong

Superluminova....colour matched.

 By: BDLJ : August 15th, 2010-16:52
... is available in some pretty way-out colours as standard. In the lume shot, the hands and indices are a green-blue (C9?) which jars a little with the colour theme. My suggestion is for a Red lume on the red piece and a Yellow on the yellow one. Granted...

Thanks for the beautiful pics. Kong.

It sure is a different take to commemorate a F1 Grand Prix with a GMT watch instead of the usual & IMO more appropriate chronograph. However, with only nine of each, they are certainly very limited .... or are they not expecting much demand? cheers fernand...

Thanks Fernando ...

 By: Kong : August 14th, 2010-09:32
Would you be coming over to swim the infinity-pool during the F1 season? According to E'Colleczione, their reason for NINE is for symbolic, as it is their first collaboration, 9 means everlasting - 'chang chang jiu jiu'. Kong

Hi Kong

Can't make it over to the F1 this season. Most probably later in the year, will let you know. Best fernando

Great!

LOVE the Dial but not so crazy about the Doted Straps. i'd rather have a plain Strap with either Red or Yellow Stitching.. (imo) thank you for posting Tony

Some alternatives, perhaps ....

 By: Kong : August 14th, 2010-09:53
Yet to see plain one with red or yellow stitching though. Thanks for viewing, Tony. Kong...

...of two very cool watches. The angular case, screws and dial pair well with the racing theme. I like how the color is somewhat subtle. I'd definitely go for the yellow one!

Thanks Ping!

It seems that LW is gaining a lot of press/ popularity lately... I love the brand since the beginning. But was not too hot on its dial design. I love the concept of analog / digital instrument combo. The early LW 2-timer was too busy for me. The 3 Timer c...

seen the watch today, nothing fantastic. whats the point of a 3 time zone RACING theme watch? to monitor the time in another race track on the other part of the world? its is good looking for sure, but what racing element is there other then POSSIBLY alca...

Thanks for your opinion ...

 By: Kong : August 14th, 2010-10:43
as for cashing-in on any race or other story, it is simply the commercial aspect which most use, as you know Sometime, I wonder that most racing-fans should have many race-related-chronographs. It may not be a bad idea to have non-chronograph for a change...

something like the rock or the reef...

 By: Hororgasm : August 14th, 2010-11:55
to be frank....LW could have created something really useful, and not just cosmetic. they could for example create another attachable clip on module, which i think it really useful, and the one thing that have the LW DNA...like the Rock and the Reef...but...

Yep... you are spot on....

 By: Bruce-YVR : August 14th, 2010-12:57
on the digital module for racing purpose!!! good call... and Yep... pretty Sky as well whahahahaha Bruce

btw, congrats on the new acquisition

 By: Hororgasm : August 14th, 2010-13:06
i have nothing against the watch, just the notion that any colour and cosmetic change turns a regular edition into a special edition for some occassion not even associated with the brand, plus no relevent complications to boot!!

Good inputs ...

 By: Kong : August 15th, 2010-01:16
Perhaps that may be one of the instruments. I believe the LW Team will be reading your comments Thanks. Kong

Well... feedback from LW on this F1 line...

Nice pictures Kong. I am a big fan of LW (and own a few already), however I am a little disappointed with these to tell you the truth. The yellow and red colours are great, but in my humble opinion it should have been carried also over to the face with so...

Thanks for the inputs...

Hi Andrew Appreciate the candid comments and you are not alone. LW is likely to hear this. Among all the LWs, which in your collection do you like best? If have time, we would love to see some pics Kong

Hi Kong, Thanks for your message and good to hear that other people maybe think the same. All of them are a bit different but I do like to wear the Spidolite SA All Black as I think the blue hands look super cool, however I do like to wear the slightly th...

Wow we have similar pieces

Wow we have similar pieces I also have DLC Spidolite SA and DLC Oktopus and yesterday i received my Hard Black 1 which I'm enjoying a lot. Which strap do you wear your Spidolite with? You're right I have Offshores and the LWs do look smaller on the wrist.

Croc all the way...

 By: andrewluff : September 11th, 2010-10:47
Hi Steffi, Seems like you like LW's as well. I was wearing mine on the normal croc strap, but the spidolite croc one arrived the other week so switched it over to that but only worn it once since as have a few other new purchases which are the watches of ...

I have 3 deployants now.

 By: steffi1 : September 11th, 2010-16:34
It seems the original Hard Black comes on rubber with deployant. The Oktopus and Spido came with Croc/Aligator and buckles but I ordered deployants knowing the leather straps need them. It is true the straps will wear a lot faster and crease with the buck...

Deployment is it black?

 By: andrewluff : September 12th, 2010-00:00
Is your deployment DLC or Titanium? I went into the studio in London but they gave me a titanium one as it was this or steel but they did not have a black one? Actually the titanium one went back as it went rusty when it was wet....

Deployants I have are all black DLC

 By: steffi1 : September 12th, 2010-11:23
I have three DLC deployants. I don't think they do a DLC titanium deployant so mine are all DLC steel.

Thanks

 By: andrewluff : September 12th, 2010-23:02
Thanks, will check with them. The one I had was just titanium (and matched my Oktopus but went rusty around all the pins and joints) but would like a DLC one to go with the Spidolite which I didn't think they did. Regards Andrew
