The first titanium Big Pilot from IWC, made for Sincere Haute Horlogerie

Dec 27, 2007,06:31 AM

Sincere Haute Horlogerie (SHH) is a boutique store dedicated to high horology timepieces. Each year SHH collaborates with a some of the leading names in watchmaking to create limited editions to be sold exclusively in SHH boutiques. One of the most eagerly awaited SHH limited editions is the IWC Big Pilot in titanium.

This 50-piece limited edition is presented in a matte titanium case with striking orange hands and numerals. The Big Pilot has only been available in steel or precious metals so far, resulting in a big and heavy watch. Titanium resolves that problem nicely.

Admittedly, the orange and black theme is the flavour du jour but this watch represents a twist on the serious looking Big Pilot, something which many are looking for. And unlike most of the SHH limited edition collection which are mostly high complications or jewellery watches, the titanium Big Pilot is relatively affordable, priced at a reasonable premium over the regular Big Pilot (I am referring to the list price, I make no comment on the net or discounted price). Kudos to Sincere and IWC for doing such a good job with this watch.

Hi, Nice Orange Mecanique color! At least with a pilot watch for plane pilots you can dare it. When you pilot a board of administrators, not that easy.... I find it more appealing than the normal version. Dje

LOL, Jerome, good one! nt
