IWC spare parts department (if Jesus wore a watch...)

Feb 12, 2008,13:12 PM

Now don't get me wrong. I hate people who take anyone's name in vain..especially mine.  Since my name isn't Jesus. (No kidding, I have 2 friends whose parents named them Jesus).

But seriously, I am a BORN AGAIN Christian...and I know my Lord and Commander in Chief has a sense of humor. I always thought these strange thoughts.."what if Jesus walked among us today..instead of 2008 years back?"

What car woulfd he have driven? Saab..nah too yuppy banker, a Toyota..nah...a VW??? Hmm...

A watch..it would have been an IWC. Now..don't get me wrong...he may have worn an AHCI or a eta made Porsche Design watch, or maybe a Sinn...

The point is..I hate people who say "God Bless"..whenever we finish a portion of our conversation...it's too presumptious of us to even know what God feels, or wants to bless. It's almost arrogance.

Whatever...here is how IWC makes watches that are gonna "last a long time", or maybe remain serviceable. It's the thought that counts..I mean..who is gonna walk in asking for a dial made for his granpa's watch made in 1918??? Who even knows that the Broadway Watch Company is really IWC??? Especially those "movie stars" who seem to know so much about IWC that they figure its the Zenith. pardon the pun, of watchmaking.

I was impressed with the way that IWC took stock and kept stock of all their old parts...hell, maybe it's all a publicity stunt! But seriously....I guess with all that hammer tests, the watches cut into half, boiled in oil, here's a look at the spares department...and trust me..there is NO department like this at Richard Mille or Roger D!!!

Vianney has one though..seriously!!!!

When they were just arguing and DOUBTFUL that it would be possible for man to make an airplane, let alone make a 747 that weighs in at TONS of metal to fly from one continent to another....

Made before man believed it was possibe to fly a machine that was obviously heavier than air!

Now these are parts that may just be needed in the yera 3010!

Now..these are made for pilots or whoever would fly a 747...well..I know pilots who rather wear a 7day instead of a Pilot's watch.

I hope you enjoyed this rather disrespectful rant for a change of pace!

If you wanna see more....just ping me on this post below.

I am working on the clues for HWRT's Opus 8 right now!
