13 May, 2010 - E'COLLEZIONE, a new retailer in Singapore ( located in Mandarin Gallery), celebrated the launch of LINDE WERDELIN with the presence of the one of the founders of LINDE WERDELIN, Mr Jorn Werdelin.
Guests and some press members arrived on time at 6:30pm, and the store was packed.
Though E'COLLEZIONE is a new, the persons behind the company is a veteran in Singapore watch-industry.
Some of the 2010 Novelties were displayed ... above is 'The Oktoplus DLC' ....
The 3 Timer Series and SpidoLite Series ...

The launch event was done with Berluti. A showcase with some lovely Berluti shoes and bags was set-up at the opposite end of
the shop. Quite a few guests were wearing their Berluti shoes too!
Mr Jeffrey Leong, the founder of the E'COLLEZIONE. Yes, he was wearing his Berluti too.
A snapshot of one of the guests custom-dyed pair of Berluti ...
While we were on the way to the private-viewing room, noticed that Jorn spotted a pair of Berluti!
He was quick to bring out the instruments, and ready for my questions!
What's on Jorn's wrist?
The latest Oktopus Moonphase, limited to 29 pieces. Case is of Titanium Grade 5 with a rose gold unidirectional bezel.
Is this the first time LINDE WERDELIN has odd number quantity? I missed out asking for the reason, as most of their limited editions
come in quantity of 22, 44, 82, 88 and 222.
The interesting feature about the new Oktopus Moonphase is the photorealistic moonphase printed on a luminance disc (as shown above).
Once the luminance is charged, it enable the wearer to read the moonphase in low light. One of the more interesting moonphase I ever seen.
The design is done with specifically the divers in mind. Besides for predicting tide, according to the Designer, it is best to night-dive during full moon as some exotic species of the fish may swim out.
It is could be use to estimate the weather for the next 2 days. During a full moon and weather is fine, it should remain the same for the next two days.
The current moonphase is directly represented at the six o'clock position, and the whole window display a period +/- 6 days for the moonphase.
The movement base is a FP 1150 while the moonphase module is by Svend Anderson.
A pic for the size comparison between the instruments - the ROCK and the REEF.
Asked Jorn what are the uniqueness as compare to other dive computer.
Besides, the compact size and competitive pricing, the LINDE WERDELIN Instruments software is upgradeable via the USB port
as and when there is improvement.
The Instrument can be programmed to handshake with many external sensors, thus added functions are possible.
The cases are solid anodised aluminum and comes in three colours. The REEF is filled with oil to withstand pressure to 300m.
A single charge allows continuous 28 hours of diving.
The Ski Instrument, The ROCK, displaying clearly the log of the altimeter.
The next question which was frequently asked, would the Instrument scratch the watch after repeated mounting?
For the REEF, the polymer back case is 'rubberised' , thus it is soft and not scratching the case of the watch.
The four stubs/stoppers which latch into the watch-slots are rubberised too.
The opposite side.
Asked also how the design prevents accidental dismounting of the Instrument.
Jorn mentioned, the action will need to be intentional and it requires the thumb, index and middle fingers to release the latch.
Above, showed Jorn holding the REEF with the latch close.
Applying pressure on the fingers, the latch opens and hinges outward.
To remove from the Instrument from the watch, an additional upward lifting motion is required, as shown by Jorn in the following
two pictures ...
The REEF was already mounted on his Oktopus. To dismount, he placed his three fingers on the REEF ...
depress and lift up to remove the REEF ....
Next a quick demo for the ROCK ...
The ROCK is smaller and lighter than REEF, as it is a Land Instrument, with no water to displace the weight, and you would not to
carry a chunk of weight while skiing or mountaineering.
Same procedures to mount and dismount the ROCK from the watch ...
A side by side pic ...
One more pic of the Gentleman ...
A pic of a Lady with a SpidoLite !
Ms Mercedes Canos, LW's Marketing Director, an avid diver too!
It looks really good on her!
What do you think?
Time up, a customer requesting to meet Jorn ....
A final pic of the LINDE WERDELIN Duo ...
Another Lady (Sharon from E'COLLEZIONE) with The Element on bracelet !
Looks pretty good on her petite wrist ...
This is on a man's wrist.
He insisted the watch was too large for his pencil-wrist
Side View ....
What has he to say now? Just smiled :-p
A piece of the prototype Oktopus Tattoo was on display ...
Orange SuperLuminova on the dial and hands with matching orange-stitched straps too.
The minute and hour hands are like the octopus tentacles.
Its body art onto a watch. Customization should be next for people who likes Miami Ink.
This model is limited to 82 pieces! Away from their typical 88 pieces. Where are the six pieces?
Its there a story behind? Perhaps.
