Probably one of my first real watch - Colt GMT

This would definitely be one of the first three, and purchased for a few reasons - solidness and waterproofing, second timezone and very affordable, both new and service costs. Took it out today for some heavier than usual work, and I am still awed over the value that is offered by Breitling in terms of build and finish. Accuracy is still tops, although it has been 6 years since the last service.

The dial is my favorite part of the watch. Aside from being very legible, the reflection of light off the circular pattern is very attractive, and depending on the light, it changes between a grey, black and dark blue dial. The little touches of red on the seconds and second timezone hand makes the dial a little less boring. If I wanted to complain, it would be that there is just too much text on the dial. Managed to get some pictures of it today, just for sharing. A great watch, well built and suitable for just about anything - one of those that I categorize as the go to watch when fearing damage to the others.

anti reflection both sides of the crystal, bluish.. Also considered the Planet Ocean Seamaster GMT.. But.. Pan Am romance burns in Rolex GMT., moreover a GMT missing from what I have.. Nice watch

Rollie GMT probably the most solid around

Though I don't have one :-) Still waiting for my YM before the next steps.... Richard

Wish I'd held onto my first 'real' watch . . .

. . . a Rolex AirKing, ca '86, which would almost qualify for vintage status now. If you hold on to your Colt long enough, it'll be too precious for yard work and plumbing projects! :-)

A very nice piece...

I remember in '99 when i bought my first real watch, it came down to the a colt superocean and the omega seamaster professional 300. Ultimately I went for the omega, but i do very much remember the admiration i had for the Breitling. Nice story, and good ...

I like this Omega

and it has been in my sights...I only wish they didn't have that screw in valve at 10 oclock. To me, everything else about the watch is just perfect.

Beautiful model of Breitling

Please share more of these beauties here with us. I especially like the second one - the big date and the shape of the crown is exquisite!
