Best actual Deploying Buckle?

Mar 09, 2015,15:50 PM

The Deploying Buckles comfort is very uneven from a brand to another.

Many of us don't have any problem with their design and their thickness but usually thin wrist often don't bare most of the DB proposed.

As I was looking at the new Apple Watch lately I came by the deployant buckle equipping the metalic bracelet (€.500).

The buckle is 1.6mm thick and is perfectly designed to remain (I guess) of the utmost comfort.

Here are some pictures and I wish our favorite brands could get their inspiration from it.

Cheers, Mark

I can see there will be a market making adaptors from this to other bracelets

leave it to Apple to spend millions re-engineering what we moan about for years with no notice taken by the watch companies! Of course, let's try it first, but reading the interview in the Financial Times this weekend with Jony Ive, he talked about how th...

Thanks for the additional info

I don't know if they will copy but they should. A little try is indeed necessary. Cheers, Mark

With Apple's massive purchasing power, access to state of the art CNCs, and boatloads of engineers, it wouldn't surprise me if this ~500 dollar steel band is actually better than a lot of the higher end Swiss ones. Based on the pictures, it looks extremel...

They have important means in terms of machines. I guess the traditional brands would though have enough means to do so as well from the last years growth. Maybe it doesn't have to be as perfect but just as plain. I hope we'll have a nice surprise in the n...

To me, bracelet is more appealing than the watch...

... given the fact that the idea behind AppleWatch means one has to wear it all the time and charge every night. It would be hard for me to justify putting off my JLCs, IWCs, PAM, Rolex, hand wound GS, etc to wear a device that is basically a mix of of he...

Can't wait to try

Personally I am very curious about the case, bracelet finish aspect of the watch. I think I read somewhere that if Swiss were to make similar case and bracelet, it would cost thousands of dollars. But Apple's economy of scale enabled them to make it at a ...

The deployant seems to be ergonomic as all apple stuff. i'm not interested in this kind of device but i hope many maisons look at this "watch" and ask their designer to do a better job.

It looks like the Apple links are like IWC links where there are no pins/screws but removed by push button on the inside of the link.

It seems

Very well conceived and made. It's pretty sad to see that in order to have some real innovation in those kind of details we have to wait an electronic device constructor like Apple.... My favourites deployante buckles are the actual Rolex one, abive all t...

Last time new things came up was during the late 60's and the quartz watches made the most part of the swiss mechanical watch industry to go fishing :-)

engrave it with PP or AP

Of course I'll wait till i see it. Wonder if it'll fit a regular watch? The bracelet will no doubt last longer than the applewatch. Should it fit a regular watch...
