A sneak peek at the latest issue of TimeWerke magazine

The publisher of TimeWerke magazine has kindly allowed me to offer Purists a sneak peek at its latest issue. This issue has been delayed for some time, leading fans of the magazine to wonder about its status. The reason for the delay is simple - this issue is packed with loads of content. TimeWerke also revamped the magazine, to better differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded market for horology publications.

Weighing in at a whopping 448 pages, this anniversary issue of TimeWerke is packed with lots of informative articles, keeping in spirit with the educational philosophy of the magazine.

In addition to the excerpts shown below, TimeWerke has offered to give Purists a look at an article on the recent Grand Prix d'Geneve, which delivered the most surprising prize winners in the competition's history. Click here  to see the article in PDF format, alternatively you can right click on the link to download the article to file.

Enamelling is featured prominently in this article with articles on both Piaget and Bovet.

The Audemars Pigut Tradition d'Excellence high complications receive special attention, with a two page spread detailing all the models that have been produced so far. One of the pages is reproduced below.

Another interesting article concerns the summer solstice, which presents more information on the topic than I have ever seen in any other magazine.

A highlight of the issue is the reproduction of the opinions offered by Purists in this thread on our Patek Philippe forum last month in a discussion about the ref. 5070 and ref. 5980. That is part of a longer article on the two watches which also features the terrific photographs of Harry Tan. The table detailing summarising the thread from the Patek forum is reproduced below.

This issue is also packaged with a 56 page booklet dedicated to Longines and its long history as a sporting event timekeeper. Having seen the booklet, I have to say it's so well done it is as good as, if not better than, the official material from the brand itself.

The magazine will be available at news stands and bookstores in Singapore from the weekend of 28 and 29 March onwards. Many thanks to TimeWerke for allowing me to publish this sneak peek.
