A Crazy Day, Amazing Friends, and a Nice Story

By: amanico (registered) Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

We decided to organize a small GTG between French Purist Friends, who weren't already in Holidays, yesterday.

Ok, you will say that this is another GTG, and that this is not exceptional...

You're wrong!

Each time friends decide to organize a GTG, this is an exceptional moment, as this is always great to share time, spend a moment between real true Friends.

So, Patrice and Jeff ( Dr Strong ) were coming from the south of France, Foversta and me from Paris, and Jeff's friend was joined us for a quick moment.

5 Watchnuts together...And when I say " Watchnut ", the word is very weak...

Good food, cigars and drinks, nice weather ( which is quite rare, in Paris!), and terrific ambiance...

A lunch " ala francaise "..

From Left to Right...

Jeff ( aka Popeye the Sailor Man ), Patrice The Greedy, and Foversta, The Wise among the Wise...

Now why was this GTG so special?

Because All the attenders bought a watch from each other, or a watch this Day!!!

Jeff from his friend, a gorgeous Vintage Daytona, and his friend form him a nice Tudor Marine Nationale:

This is just a gorgeous Vintage Rolex, with a nice Plexy, a very clean dial, well balanced, with some pleasant proportions...

Great catch, Jeff!

Foversta, and this is a First, my friends, just bought his 1st Rolex Watch...an amazing choice, but it fots perfectly his wrist, and yes, the Milgauss is a very original and nice rolex Watch...

This is just that Foversta did it...But as we say in France " Only Silly Pepole never change their mind "...

Congrats, FX!!!

Patrice realized an old phantasm...The Mare with the smooth Bezel, a Slytech one, as rare as beautiful ( only 31 pieces in the world )...

My friend, so happy that this one, like the Bomba, went to a so nice home and wrist...LOL

And I finally put my hands on this gorgeous Blancpain FF Mil Spec...coming from Jeff's collection!

Thanks a lot, my friend...Be sure that I will cherish this one, as I was hunting it for 4 years, now!!!

There wasn't only one Mil Spec, but 3!!!

If you're interested by this watch, here's the link to the appropriate post:

Then we came to the GG Boutique, to see again this Gefica, and we ended by the most famous Café of the Place Vendome, the JLC Boutique, to rest a bit, discuss about watches, and admiring the Diving GMT and the Duo Metre à Chronographe...

Here with Patrice Amvox II, and mine...

3 guys happy to be there, sharing this moment, this happyness:

Here Patrice in the Court: " I swear, your honor, my client is innocent "...

Hey, Patrice stop making this Guilty Face or they will sentence you! LOLOLL

Thanks to Jeff, Patrice, Francois Xavier, and Jeff's Friend, for this unique and great moment of watches, of ocurse, but first of all...

OF FRIENDSHIP!

Nicolas

By: amanico (registered) Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

If you decide your famlily to go to Istria, this summer....LOL
Thanks for the nice words, my friend.I really hope that we'll be able to do something like that in a very close future.
Yes, I let go the Mare Smooth Bezel, but my first reason was that this watch goes to a friendly house, and on a Friend's , a very good friend's wrist.
It will help me to fund a big catch, which will come soo, at least, I hope...
Best, Damian!

Hi Nicolas,

Great post. I haven’t been in Paris since my honeymoon (that’s 12 years) and seeing you guys sitting at a café outside in the sun brought back lots of memories. I remember great weather for our week there in October – doesn’t that happen anymore?

Always nice to see friends sharing wonderful experiences (and watches).

Andrew

Come on, Andrew D, experience it by yourself!

By: amanico (registered) Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

It will be great to organize something here in Paris...
In October, for a romantic reminder for you and your wife?
Why not!
The weather may be nice, and the watches are here,...
Let me call some friends, and sure we'll have big Purist Time! LOL
Best.

That is what I call: quality time

By: small-luxury-world (registered) Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

No surprise that Nicolas went for the vintage BP, but FX with a Rolex ... still can´t believe ;-)

Thanks for sharing with us.

oliver

LOL, Oliver

By: amanico (registered) Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

Yep,n this is a Revolution for FX...
Well, not really, as he first got a Panerai...
So a Rolex was a logical 2d watch...
Never too late to do good choices! LOL
As for quality time, it was EXTRA! LOL
