Dear Ken,
I always put a high level of attention to your posts, because they always hide a surprise, be it in the contents, or in the pictures or simply for their incomparable style.
This time, you have reported us something slightly different from the "usual" watch exposition. And I enjoy it a lot!!! Talking also about philosophy is not out of place here and actually it could be a brilliant way to encourage cultural discussions between us.
Your article had indeed a lot of curiosities. For example: how Citizen proofed in 1956 the anti-shock mechanism of the Citizen Oarashock; when you say that Japanese are reknown for their pragmatism and courage... Moreover, I've found very well posed and highly interesting your consideration about WIP/VIP people. The "Better starts now" video is really incisive, powerful and funny. The countless technical records sound as an anthentic news for me. And so on...
If I'm not wrong, Citizen is particularly strong in Italy, and maybe they have something like the European headquarters here, even guided by an Italian. Could you confirm? Me too I have a Citizen Promaster Diver's 200M. It's from 2000, but it's not in a good shape. Here it is.
In my opinion, Citizen should undergo its own brand to a bit of a renewal, since to my eyes it looks a bit - I don't know how I can say - old?
Finally, I really hope someday they could put into market the tourbillon proto you've seen. It's a daring challenge, both on the technical, commercial and design size. Please, keep us informed!
Again, thank you for your wonderful report.
Ciao,
Elio
