I'm not into 'smart' watches so I'm no expert.
From what I've gleaned, all such watches allow downloads of dial customised "faces" and there were websites offering such copies of famous watch models.
I believe this was a "unique selling point" for such electronic watches. Apart from having to rely on Bluetooth link to the real timing module on the associated "smart phone", the wrist-worn device encouraged you to change your watch face whenever desired. You could "wear" a Rolex one day and a Cartier Tourbillon the next.
Some so-called watch aficionado websites even endorsed and encouraged this, citing those great levellers of 'egalite' and 'fraternite'. Everyone could "enjoy" the Kari Voutilainen experience without actually paying Mr Voutilainen; Hurrah!
They obviously, did not think this through....
I'm in two minds about this.
If someone cannot afford a desired watch model and is willing to wear a fake dial on their wrist, my sympathy goes out to them.
On the other hand, one cannot condone theft of intellectual property and devalue of real owner's watches.
Maybe, if the downloaders paid a royalty fee to the brands, it could be a negotiated justification.
