Mine was a total surprise (to me)
Jan 23, 2015,17:40 PM
I was scanning through the For Sale watch ads (as one does from time to time) and saw a watch with "push-crown light". Having owned more than 100 Seiko watches, I'd never even heard of such a thing. For $49, I just had to have it.
It came as only a watch head, so I had to supply a 22mm strap - quite wide for a reasonably sized watch (37.5mm x 40mm) from 1980, I thought. And then I had to refill the recessed Seiko logo with some white paint.
and test out the illumination, which works nicely.
It was still running the next day, which is always one's hope with a cheap new watch.
although it stopped today and I had to supply a new battery, but that gave me a chance to check out the innards.
Here it is in action, along with an LA class nuclear submarine.
Here's a focus on the sub and not the watch. Also notice the guy with the machine gun glaring at the watch ...
I'm very happy to have a more reasonably-sized, low-budget version of a watch I've looked at longingly for a while AND have a built-in light.
