So, now what?

It’s no secret that I’m a renegade, and a huge fan of the Carl F. Bucherer brand, with about a dozen in my stable.
Like everyone else, I was totally blindsided by today’s announcement of Rolex acquiring Bucherer.
For those of us vested in Carl F. Bucherer, the big question is what it means for CFB, a fully owned subsidiary of Bucherer.
I see several options:
1. Rolex further developing the CFB brand, giving Rolex a trifecta, positioning CFB between Rolex and Tudor, or even capitalizing on CFB’s technical prowess (Peripheral Rotor, Minute Repeater, Tourbillon, GMT module, etc.) by bringing these capabilities to Rolex or potentially growing CFB into a brand focused more on complicated pieces (dreaming)
With Rolex behind CFB, growing the CFB brand could bring them larger market share without expanding Rolex and risk watering down the Rolex brand.
2. Spin off CFB as an independent brand.
3. Or, God forbid, …never mind. I don’t want to consider the third option.
