Here's a more accurate "Car analogy"

I agree that if you crash your new car into a pole at 100 miles an hour, it's your problem.
But what if you bought a new car and got into a minor fender bender at 10 miles an hour and your car was completely totaled? That's a more accurate analogy to the cracked watch.
OK, if the guy took it to the top of the Empire State building and dropped it down to the street to see what happens... I agree. His choice & fault.
But when a watch that is advertised to have a case made out of such high quality and rugged material completely breaks in half after falling from 3-4 feet.... That's no good and I feel should be backed up by the manufacturer. Or AT LEAST charge a reasonable price to fix it....
I say part this watch out.
Sell the movement, hands, dial, box, straps, buckle to salvage as much $ as possible. Add to that the $8,700 you were going to spend on a new case and buy something else...
