Purpose of the survey?

 By: Tick Talk : April 25th, 2010-17:54
I can recognize some marketing questions but can you please explain what your purpose and intentions are with this survey? Is Purists intending to encourage the named luxury brands to adopt Internet storefronts in addition to bricks and mortar? That would...

No real deep undertone

 By: Bill : April 25th, 2010-18:01
Just a small poll to get a feel for things out in the online sales world hence the lightness of the questions. The landscape of distribution is not going to change anytime soon. Down the road we can expand and use the poll tool a little more so all ideas ...

why can't every member make a poll ? [nt]

You can but ...

 By: Bill : April 26th, 2010-10:59
you need to send it across to be prepared for presentation. Anyone is free to PM me with any ideas and I will be happy to work out the format. Bill

 By: Bruno.M1 : April 26th, 2010-13:36
Ok, thanks,

As to format real simple

 By: Bill : April 26th, 2010-13:39
Hi Bruno Just send me the question(s) Followed by the answers and the next question etc. If you want the answer to be multiple choice just put (multi) at the end of the question. PM me in the format and we are off to the races. Bill

One other aspect of a PuristSPro poll...

 By: Bill : April 25th, 2010-21:13
You have to participate to see the results as we are very democratic. This is a community of give and take. But we love to add more and more gives and we thank with open arms all the lurkers who become posters everyday as they make the community stronger ...

Questions are not all very clear

 By: NoMilkToday : April 26th, 2010-00:53
Bill, I did not mind participating and I am very surprised with the results. I always thought Patek owners to be a small minority and Rolex owners to be the big majority. My thoughts were false. Two questions: 1) why is only a subset of brands mentioned i...

Same problem for me!

 By: anaesdoc : April 26th, 2010-02:10
Questions 10 to 15 were tricky (very high/low impact on my willingness to pay/buy online). I got confused and also chose the safer middle section . Reminded me of our MC questions for being admitted as a med student. Hope, I´m a better doctor than MC...

A couple of quick answers

 By: Bill : April 26th, 2010-11:12
Regarding the broader list vs the shorter list in question 3-5 the idea was that subset represented a range across the major houses like Richemont etc. and the idea was that is more a brand recall rather than recognition. The focus to hone in on the high-...

Has the "Big 3" changed now?

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 25th, 2010-20:03
Big 3 used to be Patek, AP, and Vacheron Has Vacheron been usurped by Lange? So today's popular vote, the Big 3 is now Patek, AP, and Lange? That's what the results show right now at 222 votes! Cheers, Anthony

I noticed that too....

 By: moc : April 26th, 2010-16:24
Lange is growing and growing in the common knowledge, still maybe in the watch lovers knowledge but it s expanding.I don t have any doubt in thinking that Lange will be top 3 in the near future and its watches will have bigger recognition in auctions and c...

I'm also surprised how poorly Omega faired in Question #2

 By: AnthonyTsai : April 26th, 2010-19:22
given how much they spend on advertising each year. Rolex kicked Omega's butt IMO. - AT

Well....

 By: nickd : April 26th, 2010-23:37
Are you measuring what people think, or what watch afficienados think they should think...? Good questionnaire design would trap point like this. nick

Agreed

 By: mrsnak : April 27th, 2010-07:44

This survey is targeted at likely players

 By: Bill : April 27th, 2010-08:56
It would not provide nearly as valid a result set if we went out on the street and surveyed random people who have never hear of Patek. The sampling here is key and getting a qualified audience, and audience most likely to be part of the segment is the ke...

In China...

 By: Ogygia : April 27th, 2010-02:47
Omega is catching up Rolex on sale. In past Omega reduced price to compete with rolex...and lost... Now Omega have a very good marketing in China. As what I know, the retail sale value of Omega should be counted on 9digi USD in China including HK each yea...

It’s very interesting to see that JLC…

 By: marcelo : April 27th, 2010-18:57
… is the 2 nd most followed brand and the 1 st in number of owners among the respondents. It also grabbed my attention the fact that Lange ranked 2 nd and A. Piguet 3 rd at the “first brand that comes to mind” question but both have no o...

some of the questions were not worded to allow proper response

 By: 1watch : April 30th, 2010-04:59
The results are intereesting, but I too agree with having participated that certain questions were confusing. I don't think some of your responses have an accurate reflection of true intent for that reason. I personally would have liked more choices for t...
