but gold is back in fashion !

the flamboyant style of sport watches in gold is particularly popular in Italy , one of the fashion capital of the world and inspired me to want one of my own. the Daytona in gold and leather strap makes me drool and contemplate till I came across the bulgari scuba professional, which has its iteration in brushed gold, and to me more desirable, it made the watch a little less flashy and more utilitarian, but still flashy as it is after all, in gold. Since gold used on sport watch is a paradox and never meant , I decided to transform my used rubber strap with a leather one.

however, a trip to the bulgari boutique disappointed as they do not make leather straps for the scuba since it is a sport model. then, a determined purist does not stop here, I custom made an alligator skinned strap in medium brown with a khaki tinge( which does not show in my pic) with a army green stitch from an atelier, and Ialso get to use the belly side of the skin on the reverse, which made the strap softer and more comfortable.

so here u are, the transformation :

A rejuvenated look and look at the markers on the dial at an angle ! the fine finishing on the case and dial is commendable. me love!

matched nicely with the custom-made reptile strap. a.ler: Well done! The strap-maker did a good job with the central ridge aligned with the cut-out on the lugs and I like the inner surface is also finished leather like what Chopard LUC offers as standard....

i must commend the strap atelier for his efforts for rejuvenating my love for ..

Very beautiful combination. Mine is still on a rubber/carbon strap combo, but like you said, they won't do a leather one for it. I am actually getting leather done for this and a IWC Ingeniuer today. This provides inspiration and a template for mine. Best...
