It worked (though no live shot)!

Below is what I saw at 10am this morning. I then advanced the date on the Calendrier to 1 MAR and all was well. I did this by pulling out the crown, rotating it upwards (clockwise) 6 times to change the day from FRI to THU, and then turning the crown downwards (counterclockwise) once to change both the day (from THU to FRI) and the date (from 29 to 1) simultaneously, which also changed the month from FEB to MAR -- a triple play!
The setting mechanism on these is really easy. For the Calendrier, after you pull out the crown, you rotate the crown upwards to change only the day (MON, TUE, etc.), and you rotate it down to change both the day and date at the same time. The only difficulty with this is that if you make a mistake and advance the date or month a bit too far, you have to rotate the crown down many, many times to scroll through a whole year.
The Perpetuelle does not have this problem. The crown functions the same as it does on the Calendrier, but the additional button (on the case at the 8 o'clock position, locked in place to prevent accidental use) advances the month by one month with each push. So if you make a mistake and advance anything a bit too far, you just have to push the month button a maximum of 47 times (which is still easier than rotating the crown down through 363+ days!). Also, the leap year indicator on the Perpetuelle is built into the month of February on the display. You can see in my photo from several days ago that the month says "3FE." This February display cycles every 4 years -- 1FE, 2FE, 3FE, and finally BFE ("bissextile") for the leap year.
