That?s a mid 1940?s-1950?s piece

Hi David,

you?re welcome.

Based on the input so far, i?d say it?s a mid 1940?s to 1950?s piece. The movement is a 17ligne GP calibre 23, which is based on an ebauche by AS. To my experience it has been used almost exclusively for the US markets, which is reflected by the casework: Keystone is an US case maker and that watch, bearing the export code "GXM" on the movement, was encased in the US.

It?s a 14K gold case and while it?s difficult to determine the exact date of production (there?s very few material for US production pieces), i know these pieces sold for $150-250 in their days. I?d say that?s been not inexpensive then!

Hope this helps a bit?

Greetings from germany,

Peter

Peter: I don't seem to have the "insert object" box at the bottom of my screen. 1. The watch has the following on the inside of the back cover: Keystone 14K 6188417 2. The inside of the watch says: Unadjusted Swiss "SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS" 23 4274 "GXM" on o...
