....to think that little of the style filtered down to lesser models.

 

I think that IWC has lost its pocketwatch roots somewhat and that saddens me. Probably because it is not a commerically viable product. Still the new Jones movement stepped somewhat in the right direction, then the aquatimer took a step back!

I'd love the see this decoration style on the new Jones in something around the 20k mark

 

never going to happen :-(

 

Just some thoughts from a diehard IWC from (actually a fan of International Watch Co. )

... as the wonderful Citroen DS was spelled "la déesse", meaning "the Goddess". In IWC's history, the Destriero Scafusiae is playing the similar role: often pursued, never reached. It is also nice to see a watch with two Habring innovations together....
