Any other unique Chronograph you know of ?

Jun 10, 2009,21:01 PM

In case some of you may ask, why is this post not in the AHCI fora ...
The subject / question is about unique chronograph.

I would like to ask if anyone has seen any unique chronograph.

For me this piece is unconventional and unique .....

Was
browsing around in Sincere Watch a few weeks ago and  this blue dial and straps piece
 caught my eyes.  Next my curiosity peaked when I don't see the chronograph pushbuttons.

So this is the Habring2  Chrono COS (Crown Operation System).

Understand the Crown Operation System is patented by
Habring2 and the watch was elected by German
“Chronos” magazine to be among the top 100 watches in year 2009.

It is indeed novel to activate the chronograph functions - Start, Stop and Reset with just the crown!

To 'Start' the chronograph, a counter-clockwise turn of the crown; to 'Stop', just the opposite, a clockwise turn
and
to 'Reset' (after stopping the chronograph), just rotate a bigger clockwise turn, the chrono-second hand
and subdial-minute hands will return in a flash.

The video below will demonstrate the COS ...

Blue is simply attractive to me, and we have just seen the L.U.C Tech Twist Metallic Blue
and the J*D Blue enamel dial.

Now for some pictures of this stunning piece of Habring2 Chrono COS ....

While reading the writeup of the Chrono COS by Habring2, got to know that chronograph was an
Austrian invention. The origin of the Chronograph was by Joseph Thaddäus Winnerl (1799-1889),
who was born in Mureck in Styria, invented the chronograph in Paris in the year 1831.

Today, more than a quarter century later, it is again an Austrian manufacture - Habring Uhrentechnik,
  that re-engineered a  unique chronograph.

Casing diameter is 42 mm with a water resistance rating of 50m.
Double anti-reflective coatings on a domed sapphire crystal.

According to Habring  there are advantages with COS design :

" .... less drill-holes in the housing minimise the risk of
ingress of water; no more possible damages of the usually very exposed pushers;
no unintentionally starting or stopping by simple movements of the wrist;
no more hard-steering or even completely frozen pushers due to staining;
just a Chronograph with the reliability of a simple three-hand watch."

The chronograph second-hand was bent at the end, good precise reading (as it eliminates parallax error).

Applied numerals and hour markers (with Superluminova coating) are
rhodiated.

Likewise for the hour and minute hands (are rhodiated and with Superluminova coating),
their ends are bent for easy and accurate reading.

While wearing the Chrono COS (why not call it COS C?  shorter to type and sounded like chronometer too)
activating & deactivating the chronograph was easy, as the size of crown is just wide and big enough
for ease of turning.

" The „COS“ is based on the newly implemented calibre A08 which again is based on
the wheelwork of the ETA-family 7750/7760. Additionally the already well known
Habring² improvements are implemented: the Triovis fine regulation, escapement
and balance wheel are in chronometer quality."

Technicality should be the focus of this piece, the manifestation of the technically strong Richard Habring,
thus the finishing is forgivable and it is improving.

Back to the subject,
have you known of any chronograph/s which is/are unique?
