refers to it as "Timex Men's Standard Watch". $89 on Amazon I saw it in an article on todays WSJ.com about affordable watches that look expensive.

Thank you.

Timex use a Miyota automatic caliber. I have heard some mention the Seagull movement but the consensus is Miyota.

Me too...

I really don't like the "knock off" term.

It seems harsh and offensive to me. I have nothing against homages as not everyone can afford the original piece and for not wealthy people homages are an opportunity to actually wear a watch they like. But maybe it's just me...

I'm all for making watches more accessible

But "homage" is just a politically correct way of saying knock off. There are many inexpensive watches that have original designs, so these just come off as lazy attempts to copy someone else's intellectual property without getting sued.

Here I get your point...

I respectfully don't agree with you.

And, more important, I don't understand why people should just buy "inexpensive watches that have original designs" when they just want to buy something that they actually like.

It's not in my interest to tell people what to buy

My criticism is directed towards the brands, not the customers. The brands are stealing intellectual property by slapping their logo on a low quality replica of the original. That's bad. These watches are a logo short of being illegal fakes, but they are ...

I don't know...maybe I just pay a little more attention to detail than others...

...but I doubt it. Do these two watches really look the same to anyone? The hands are kinda similar and the dials are both black but beyond that...it's DEFINITELY not a Replica. Case? Finishes? Numerals? Minute markers? Text? What is it that are we are ac...

The dial is a copy

I would be more accurate and say that it’s a really poor at temp at a knockoff. I feel like the intent is there. It just when you are working with that small a capital commitment things you cut enough corners and you have a circle. This is a circle.
