Hi nick, thank you very much for your further fruitful comments and discussion. I very much appreciate your time in this regard and believe that your comments and discussion will be of help to other tyros in the chronograph movement world. Your last comment makes me realize that spending longer time with the chronograph movements and old aricles will lead to more understanding the whole thing in practice. Starting with a chronograph pocket watch (the chronograph mechanisms built on the top of an existing watch movement) seems so practical. I sometimes find it very interesting for these add-up mechanisms (like, a VZ movement modified to chronograph function by Mido as as example).

Performance...
I've a couple of comments on "performance". People often comment on the "feel" or "smoothness" of the chronograph action. This is largely determined by the distance the pusher has to move and the force that has to be applied to make the columnwheel rotate...
