QUESTION FOR THOMASm

Subject: The Ebel Lichine Sr. described in your series of articles "The Ebel 060(Lemania 8810) An in-Depth Look
Hello Thomas,
I have long been a fan of your watch described in the article by yourself and Ei8htoms, going back to the days when TimeZone had regular articles from Walt Odets.
If you would be so kind to answer a few questions that have "occurred" to me over the years.
Is this a unique piece?
I have looked for many years for a near equivalent without the gold case, which I could not afford.
I hoped to find one in steel or something like that.
Did Ebel ever make such a watch; was it called a Lichine Sr.?
I dislike the Ebel variant with the Hours engraved on the metal surrounding the crystal covered face, instead of being applied to the surface of dial.
I have a nice, small collection of watches, but would jump at the chance to get something like the above with a cal 8810 movement. What do you suggest?
Thank you for your attention.
