Nov 14, 2008,21:54 PM

14 November, Singapore, 7pm, Wisma Atria Branch

This is the first major event by the Red Army Watches.

Glad to see Sugi (Managing Director), Patricia Koh and Mabel Ng (Directors) and team who started an worked tirelessly building from this branch and grow to 3 outlets in a short span of less than 5 years.

The invited guests were issued with a 'flight passport and a boarding pass (which could win a watch)'.

A side panel providing the foundation and achievements of Fiyta.  A company which was also in HBR case-study.

Some of the 'passengers' ...

Those who arrived early ... the 54 mm SpaceMaster 2008 under the white veil ...

At about 7:20pm....Patricia greeted the 'passengers' and gave a few words about Red Army Watches and Fiyta ...

After that also a short speech by the International Marketing Director, Tony.

Tony also announced that Red Army Watches is also the exclusive regional distributor for Fiyta.

The young and dedicated team of Red Army...(why were them in white? smile ) ...Dennis and Shuyi.

The unveiling of SpaceMaster 54mm Titanium version ....

Flanked by 2 local bodybuilders ...the sign of strength and toughness ...

Presenting the SpaceMaster with the wide straps...

Fans took out the cameras to capture the SpaceMaster which made is landmark for China Space history.

Shuyi showing the SpaceMaster to an interested 'passenger'.

Still packed, and everyone wanted to see the watch..

A nice token for passengers, a box consisting memorable collar-pins to commemorate the Shenzhou VII (also listed on the boarding pass) by the China Academy of Space Technolog (CAST).

From the conversation with the Red Army, the movement was joint development by the Shanghai Watch Factory and Fiyta.  Details are confidential.

A piece of possible good news, the pieces sell in Singapore is about SGD1000 lower than HongKong.... reason... not sure.

Congrats Red Army Watches Team!

Earlier today, Shenzhen Fiyta Holdings Ltd, a watch retailer and manufacturer listed on the Shenzhen and Hong Kong exchanges, launched the Fiyta Spacemaster mechanical chronograph in Singapore in collaboration with Red Army Watches, a Singapore-based reta...

Almost bought it, ...

 By: cen@jkt : November 14th, 2008-07:56
alas my mind was wandering to the problem in my family. The watch is thick and bulky, and overall look is ok. But somehow I feel the printing on the dial is not so nice, and the price is not so 'friendly'. Will definitely take a second look. cen@jkt

a chinese 'speedmaster'. nice to see its manual wind

 By: G99 : November 14th, 2008-11:54
i believe previous Fitya models were quartz so its nice to see that they've made a nice manual wind model. looks good, but i shouldnt think there's much chance of me getting one in UK. thanks JX for bringing it to our attention. Graham

Case work

 By: ling5hk : November 15th, 2008-09:31
I have the opportunity to hold and examine both LE699 and LE53 Fiyta spacemaster. It is indeed an encouraging move but not a quantum leap by the Chinese watchmakers to produce those watches. In fact, I found that the case work is rough and there are plent...

A response

 By: SJX : November 15th, 2008-09:40
From my brief examination of the watch, the best part of the case was the side and tops of the case. The rear and bottom of the case was not well finished. The bezel was decently finished but not as good as it can be. I don't recall the buckle. As I wrote...

Thanks for keeping it real

 By: MTF : November 15th, 2008-10:20
SJX, Thank you for this response to Ling's observation and for "keeping it real". Your original post was a tad more enthusiastic than the watch justifies, by a PuristS measuring stick. You wrote: "I examined the 699 limited edition briefly during the laun...

To clarify and an analogy to the PPro ABR

 By: SJX : November 15th, 2008-10:37
The casework on top and sides of case was especially good, the rear and bottom of case was not so good, I do not remember the bezel or clasp. Overall casework was entirely appropriate for a watch in this price range, just as appropriate as the casework of...

There's a scale?

 By: BDLJ : November 16th, 2008-15:06

Decently finished? Yes.
