really shows up what you can see through the tinted glass in the right light. its so hard to get it on camera, but a quick manipulation brings it out really well.
i've worn mine for 36 hours now and although i didnt set it too the second its keeping excellent time as you would expect of a new watch. Kong has issues to answer or we do as both you and i went to extraordinary lengths to get one just because we dont live in the far east.
6 months ago i never thought i'd go to so much effort to buy a Seiko. i think this watch just proves that brand names dont matter, its more build quality and design that are important to us. you could possibly put many different mid range brand names on the front and their movements inside and people would pay far more than we did just for the design. i agree about the strap quality, but you could put virtually any 20mm strap on it and it would still look good. IMHO the white one is a no no, unless my wife wanted one. white is a funny colour( yes, i know its not a colour) and it doesnt suit everybody or everything like you think it would. so far i cant think of any colour that suits it better than black.
its the first Seiko i've come across that manually winds which is a vast improvement over the earlier auto's. i'm not a big tech man so the finer points of movements go over my head. i just know it does the job perfectly well and has a nice tick close to my ear.
i've been converted as Seiko is not a brand i'd normally consider other than the GS or perhaps the Credor range, but this is a watch that people comment on as much as my phantom which cost 8x more. i think that proves the design over brand point very nicely.
theres got to be 10-20 of these purchased following Kongs post. i wish i could influence people to that degree
the best bit is that its unusual and thats my first choice.
enjoy it steve, i certainly am.
