Horological Meandering

I have aquired a couple of vintage pieces in the last few weeks, but due to the IGOTT build up i didnt think it was the time to post them until now. I purchased this piece several weeks ago and having researched it a bit i am led to believe that it is not...

I'm a Super Compressor fan and your report covers all details that one needs to know about those cases. I did not know that Benrus had one SC and yours is a serious representative of those times. I need to check with my watchmaker but it seems that those ... 

thanks Nilo, i'm no real SC expert so there's a lot more others can add. with regard to the crystal, you can find ones that fit, but not 100% correctly which can affect the rotation of the bezel. the non originals dont go in far enough to push the bezel i...  

It is only 36 mm ? Dial looks great and you probably got this one at the right price knowing you !!! Cant wait to pat you à visit my friend, to admire your complete collection ! Filip

thanks matey. price wise it was a bit more than i usually spend, about the same as the Enicar, but price is not important as all my '64's are keepers. your welcome to come over anytime you like as you know. i'm considering having a casino themed house war...

its always a pleasure to teach someone just a little something Art. if you google it you will find pics of the several versions of Ultra-Deep they do. if you cant find one of these you may find another one you like just as much. from what i know of the U-...

there are actually a huge number of 36mm SC’s, but they are often from brands no one has ever heard of using so not overly collectable. this is one of the few good brands to use the smaller case. best Graham

You did well, and even better to reposition the bezel and replace the correct crystal without damage. I have an internal bezel dive watch (a Zodiac Sea Wolf SST) and my watchmaker advised me to live with a small chip in the crystal on the otherwise excell... 

as you know, finding a good ‘un is all down to time and luck. the repair was even luckier as i do tend to break watches rather than repair them 1EBCBB37-D347-4DB8-A708-E1A306B34B5E}mid://00000024/!x-usc:cid:88BA8735836F47109378A00E1A347803@SonyVaioV...

i’m not a natural author, more used to factual reports............. sorry i said factual, i meant police reports and sometimes find it hard to make things interesting so glad you liked it. a nice piece for the ever growing 1964 collection. best Grah...

It's a great vintage diver, from one of the most desirable periods in history for these types of watches. Why wouldn't fans of divers be drawn to it? I think the dial is extremely attractive, and the unusual hands do not bother me in the least. Enjoy your...

A lovely watch the Benrus, I've actually handled one - although many years ago - and it is a quality watch. Given the military pedigree of Benrus it is a great addition to your theme.

One teaser photo some time back and then nothing...until now. I don't think I've met a SuperCompressor I didn't like.
