Waien, if they have any schaumburg enamel dials could you get pics please
Jan 02, 2009,10:23 AM
their website shows some very nice looking enamelled dials including dragons and peonies. some macro shots would be great.
also, is it possible to get their email address and pm me with it so that i can discuss international purchase with them. i've contacted Schaumburg direct, but we have no AD for 1000,s of miles. i can see the Gnomonik up/down joining my collection in the next few months if i can get a deal over the web.
regards
Graham

I was impressed with that piece as well. Even though the finishing on the movement side needs a bit more work, the porcelain dial caught my eye.
As aloresa mentioned

I called them to clarify further about the porcelain and after checking the literature further, it's actually burnt ceramic gloss coating. So I'm guessing it's not porcelain in the traditional sense. Sorry to disappoint.
Its ceramic gloss paint

Would like to clarify that the dial is covered with burnt ceramic gloss paint giving it a surface similar to porcelain.
