Yes, the contradiction...

is what makes the Japanese language so funny.
It really is anti-magnetic, though. Yes, I can see how if the watch were "magnetic", it would cause problems not only with other watches but other sensitive electronic equipment and possibly medical equipment. Of course, on the other hand, if it were magnetic, you could wear that instead of those other magnetic-health bracelets. It would be cooler looking, too! LOL
As I stated in the second part of Seiko's retailer (one of Seiko's AD) site, It is actually anti-magnetic and exceeds the "highest level of JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) Standards. However, the watch should be kept at least 5 cm from magnetic objects such as cell phone speakers and hand bags."
I found it rather interesting when it specifies that it should be kept at a minimum of 5 cm from your cell phone's speaker and handbags. I guess some of women's bags have a magnetic flap.
Hope this clears up your concern and now, feel free to go out and get one... if you can find one available.

fans, which there seem to be quite a few. Thanks for all the work. There is one contradiction in the material that is very important, the magnetic issue. The Japan Industry Standard usually refers to how something "resists" a threat to the product. So I a...
